Take a ticket to St. Petersburg to listen to the Tchaikovsky No. 6 Symphony with one of the Russian Blonde….
Go to listen Ma Yo Yo live on his Cello show and discuss with him about his Philosophy on wearing Rolex at back stage. US$1M is barely can do the about things as home in HK is expensive! and If I had somemore money...

Sheep Skin to Clean or Wipe Your Expensive Watches

Sheep Skin has a very fine and smooth surface texture!

Watch Cleaning Cloth Or Sheep Shin?
How should clean your precious watches, by using your cuff, your silk tie? Your handkerchief!? Tissues paper!? Worse is Tissue paper can could scratch your watch! Don't do that!
How about Eye glass cleaning cloth made with polyester!? Or simply a piece of sheep skin!?
Anything would not be soft enough as the sheep skin, and it does not create abrasion that result with scratches on your watch, It cleans and will not leave a trace of oil like film on the crystal!
The Sheep skin is having some super soft tissue and it does not hold tiny metal debris, sand, whatever that would leave the polished surface of your Rolex a permanent mark.
The sheep skin can be washed with light detergent and dry for next usage, each piece could be used for 5-10 years! Patek philippe, Audemars Piaget, Rolex Shop are using this to wipe the watches.
Price is about HKD$240 a piece.   Each piece could be cut into four portions of small size for your watch cleaning!
We can use this to wrap your expensive watch for storage!

How to tell by cosmetic difference on Rolex Platinum and White Gold Day-Date?

Chemical Properties
The symbol of platinum is Pt and its atomic number is 78. It's a naturally occurring metal and has a very high density of 21.4 g/cubic cm. It is Grey white originally with a specific gravity of 21.4. It is a very rarely found metal and may cause some allergic reactions in some people. It has a boiling point of 3800º C and a melting point of 1772º C. Its atomic mass is 195.078 amu.
The chemical symbol of gold is Au and atomic number is 79. White gold has to be synthesized from natural gold by mixing various combination of 75% of natural gold with 25% of platinum or palladium and another combination can be 75% of natural gold with 10% of palladium, 10% of nickel and 5% of zinc.
That is another reason that a White Gold Day Date is usually more expensive than a Yellow gold Day Date by HKD$22,000.
Natural gold's density is 19.3 g/cubic cm. It has a specific gravity of 19.32. Its melting point is 1064.43º C and boiling point is 2807º C. Its atomic mass is 196.96657 amu. This element rarely causes any allergic reactions.

Physical Properties
Platinum is a whitish silvery metal and more lustrous than white gold.
When white gold is coated with rhodium, it becomes as shiny as platinum.
A white gold ornament has to be periodically polished with rhodium to maintain its luster.
Platinum being naturally lustrous does not need any coating at any point of time.
Platinum is heavier and harder than white gold.

Tooling Concern
That is why one set of Rolex Tooling can make ten White Gold Day Date cases but just three for Platinum Day Date Cases for  the same set of tooling. That is another reason why Rolex Platinum is more expensive than White gold, approximately 1.5 times.

Collector’s Item: Platinum
So as for Collectors, Platinum Day Date case is a practically non-destructive it would wear for years and hard to be wear off. It is Sturdy, and lustrous that is why all Ultimate Collector’s item are highest in price for Platinum.
So From Outlook we can tell that a grey Silvery colour is Platinum
A White shinny outlook is White gold, even Whiter than Stainless steel 960L
Another cosmetic inspection to tell which is Rolex Platinum or White Gold Day-Date
By looking at the length of the rectangular Diamond at 6 O’clock and 9 o’clock position.
Platinum Day Date has a LONGER diamond whereas White gold is shorter

Refer to the attached pictures.
This is a really Kick Ass Rolex Platinum Ref 18346 Vintage Rolex Day Date, very very fine watch for collector, with Diamond Bezel, Diamond Dial, A Work horse for work, for Kung Fu practice with Ip Chun, or Swimming, or Going Himalaya, or to conduct a Product Presentation in front of Customer...

Again, I have too many rich man's hobbies and I have only a few dollars in my pockets! Well, if you had a lot of money, that would not be so much fun as you can buy everything.
The Process to saving up money and buy what so called a Dream Watch is real fun too.  Of course this is Chinese Ah Q spirit... sorry only thing a poor snob can say!

What Matters Most is Material of Dial and The Case for the True Value of A Day Date

What Really Matter for Vintage Rolex is Colour of the Dial and Material for the Watch!
That is to our experience that the Colour of the dial, material of the dial and material of the Watch would determine the price of the Watch.
It is hard to point out the price of the watch and the material of the watch would draft a rough price level of it.
Platinum, very little of production, very high price!
White gold, much lesser than Yellow gold, but more than Platinum, middle price level
Yellow gold, a lot. Lower price
Dial, Lapis Blue with good gold dust distribution, highest price,
Then we can have African Mahogany, Birch, Oak, Stella Red, green blue…etc

Attached is Rolex Ref 18238 Yellow Gold with Aventurine dial, in mint condition, price HKD$130,000.
The one on right is my daily work horse now as my Ref 19049 Was sold already, OK as I made some profit after using for four years. See! What a good investment by buying Vintage Rolex Day Date!?

Titanic Last Supper Menu Auction for RMB200,000, What if there was a found Rolex On board?

RMS Titanic taken right after the maiden Voyage
Last Supper Menu, Auctioned for RMB 200,000

Margaux 1900 on the Right, RP 100 points Wine

After 100 years of sunk Titanic, in 2012, R.M.S. Titanic 100 years of fact & fiction at Bonhams auction.
Items were Virgin voyage ticket, SOS telegram, and Supper Menu, from the salvage of the ship.
This last supper has 40 dishes, that includes fillet of Duckling, Sirlion of Beef, Surrey Capon and Ox Tongue… it was printed the Say the ship was sunk. April 12. 1912.
There has been still a lot of goods to be found for auction item, I was still imagine that if Rolex had invented the Waterproof case some 30 years ago, I believe there will be many as hundreds of Titanic Rolex to be auctioned. There should have been a lot of Patek philippe, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, Breguet on board, but those are damages in the salt water even for days after the accident.
On the other hand, there might have some undamaged Champagne by Don Perignon that is still drinkable if we could found, as I think that there is chances some of the bottle are still remained in good conditioned after the shop was sunken into the cold water of Atlantic Ocean.
I am sure that it may carry some 1900 Margaux which is still Young by 2020, and it is still not yet ready to be opened for drinking. Margaux 1900 is First Growth. Premier Grand Cru Classe in 1855.
Margaux 1900 was told have just 5 Bottles kept in one Cellar. I believe if this is taken from the sunken Titanic, it would be a sky high auction price. HKD$8,000,000!
What is the estimated price for an Auction items of Titanic Rolex, I think it easily reach HKD$1,000,000!

In a smash-and-grab that took three thieves just 180 seconds, A luxury watch Rolex AD in a Tsim Sha Tsui Holiday Inn hotel lost 240 Tudor valued HKD$6.5M.
Surveillance video shows the three men in masks, caps and gloves entering the arcade by a rear entrance at about 6.20am. 16 Aug 2013.
They then used large hammers to shatter the glass door of the shop before smashing open three display cabinets and scooping up the watches.
