Omega Premiere on 2021 novelty watches

It was my great pleasure and honour to be invited into the first session on 2021 Omega novelty started on 19 June in Central.

We have been introduced on the manufacturing process of  Omega alloy on their watch, process of manufacturing ceramic cases and the use of their own formula on precious metals to prevent tarnishing over time.

These are Omega gold alloy

Yellow gold with Au 75%, Cu 20% and Ag 5%

SEDNA Yellow gold  Au 75%, Cu 20% and Pd 1%

3N Rose gold with Au 75%, Cu 12.5% and Ag 12.5%

CANOPUS white gold with Au 75%, PD 21%, RH 2% and PT 1%

Besides, Omega is using liquids metal creating the "Naiad-Lock case back" to ensure that all engravings on the rear of the watch stay oriented correctly. the word "naiad" comes from the Greek and refers to mythological water spirits.

We were introduced with 2021 De Ville and and Seamaster watches.

The second picture are the only two pieces in Omega Hong Kong. They are Seamaster in Lapis Lazuli and malachite.

Personally I like the Malachite more and I believe no one is using with these material as dial on their diving watch in the past 20 years other than Omega. Rolex had been using Onyx and Lapis to make a number of Submariners 16618 back in 1994-2001, I had one with Lapis and one with Onyx before.

They are fetching a very high price in auction by now with Lapis close to $1M and Onyx $700,000.

Omega had once using these material on their Seasmaster in 2018. and only few pieces were made. This material would enlighten the beauty if a gold Seamaster and that would be a future sought after and auction hot item. I was told only two pieces were available in this premiere in Hong Kong. I was lucky enough to see it.

In my opinion Yellow gold goes with Green perfectly.

Such as those most successful introduction of Rolex Daytona ref 116508 green dial and SPR is $286,000 but now they are asking in open market of $650,000!

Latest Tudor BB58 Ref 79018V Yellow gold with green bezel and green dial. SPR $126,000 and market starts to pick up now.

Well, another one worth my consideration is a vintage look with 9K gold alloyed with bronze Seamaster 300 with sandwich dial with a awesome patina look. The SPR is $92,100.

Remarks, I could not resist the temptation, I had to take home this two beauties.

The Most Pleasing and Compelling Watch Ad Music: Omega Co-Axial Calibres

This is so far the most touching music I have ever heard on Watches, the latest Omega’s Co-Axial Calibres, which has a theoretically reduced friction, better efficiency watch escapement that 99% of the world watch has been used since 18th century.

The evocative theme song, “Smiling”, was composed by Harry Gregson-Williams and played the Seattle Session Orchestra. It was originally part of the soundtrack of the film Man on Fire. Listen to this music and You would love it especially when the violin group was working out the melody. Sometimes a theme music would change your mood, your thoughts and your appreciation to the scene. Would you consider buying Omega after listening to this music!?

Who is next Omega Brand Ambassador?

I took this picrure at Manila using my HTC One

Cindy Crawford
She was an OMEGA ambassador since 1995, Cindy Crawford has been promoting OMEGA products longer than any of the company’s other ambassadors. Cindy Crawford participates not only in advertising campaigns but is also actively involved in events and in product design – giving her personal input and helping to give the finishing touches. Her inspiration and opinions are of great value to OMEGA. (1995-2005)

Nicole Kidman
Alongside her acting career, Nicole Kidman is a tireless campaigner for children’s and women’s rights and is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF Australia and UN Women. The United Nations has also named her a “Citizen of the World”. Since joining OMEGA’s family of brand ambassadors in 2005, Nicole Kidman has figured prominently in the “My Choice” advertising campaign and has made select public appearances on behalf of the company.
(2005-now)

Zhang Ziyi
Zhang Ziyi is an actress of rare beauty and monumental achievement. Zhang perfectly fits the OMEGA brand ambassador profile: in addition to a film career which has earned her worldwide critical praise and public acclaim, she is a passionate advocate for the things she believes in. She is a Global Ambassador for the Special Olympics, the competition for individuals with mental disabilities and is a spokesperson for “Care for Children”, a foster-home program in China.
Zhang Ziyi is the highest ranking woman on Forbes’s list of China’s most powerful celebrities and the journal also rates her as the woman with the greatest amount of social influence in China.
(2009-now)

China is the biggest Market for Omega in the next 15 years, I beleive they are looking for some prominent representative China beauty as an Ambassador.
Who is the next Omega brand ambassador?  Fan Bing Bing…!  HK Snob's rough guess!

London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Omega as Official Timekeeper

London 2012
In 2012, London will host the Olympic Games for the third time, the only city to do so. London welcomed the world to the first post-War Olympic Games in 1948. The Organizing Committee triumphed in bringing together 4,000 athletes from 59 countries who competed in 117 events. The Olympic Games were not only once again the greatest sporting spectacle on Earth but a powerful symbol of a world at peace.
When the last Olympic Games took place in London in 1948, Omega was there as Official Timekeeper. Omega is looking forward to returning to London where, for the 25th time, we will assume our Olympic timekeeping role.
The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games have special significance for Omega. It has been 80 years since the brand first served as Official Olympic Timekeeper at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympic Games. It will also mark the 25th time Omega has assumed this enormous responsibility.
.

1948 – The birth of modern sports timekeeping and Seamaster

Times have changed considerably both for athletes and for timekeepers since 1948. That was the year that OMEGA helped to usher in the birth of modern sports timekeeping.
This year in London, Omega new equipment will include a highly advanced timer and an updated athletics starting block. But these, and the rest of our devices, have the same aim as the chronograph stopwatches used to time each event at the Los Angeles 1932 Olympic Games: to record for posterity the extraordinary performances of the best athletes in the world.

Remarkable Omega for a spectacular event

1948 was important for Omega not only in terms of Olympic timekeeping but also because the brand launched the Seamaster line that has been such an important part of its product offering ever since. The Seamaster 1948 ‘London 2012’ Limited Edition to honour the Olympic Games is based on the design of that very first Seamaster, which is as stylish now as it was more than sixty years ago

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 44mm
To commemorate the Games, Omega has also created the Seamaster Aqua Terra 44mm London Chronograph in two configurations. One features a bicolour case crafted from 18 Ct red gold and stainless steel and presented on an integrated blue leather strap. The other is made of rugged stainless steel and is presented on a matching bracelet.

This is a grand huge picture I took yesterday at Hang Lung Centre to the Opposite Omega AD. This is a new design That I will be feeling new, more polished facets, more angular profile giving me a sense of strength, solid and shaper look! I like this design, and probably I will consider to get one too. It would be more of a marketing gadget and value if Omega would design more  colourful dials with different material for our choice…Like what Rolex has been adopted in the concept of the dial design.

This is my first Omega Classic De Ville.

I bought this watch at one small watch shop in Kowloon City with HKD$1,080 in 1981. After 5 years, I sold it to one of my best friends KM Chan at HKD$800. He has been using this watch for many years. Omega had once produced the best watch in the 60's till 80's. You know that Omega was once more expensive than Rolex in the same category and class. But After 80's Rolex overtaken Omega in price and also in quality.
Today, whilst we had a tea with KM in the morning, I saw that watch again, he knows and every year whilst we meet, he worn that watch and showed me! But he never want to sell it back to me!

This is the first Omega I had first purchased. I can see the plating of gold is so thick that it looks 80 microns; is that Older is always better!? Note Also the Art Deco dial Design, it is beautiful, classic, simple, accurate and thin! What else you want from HKD$1,080?

A 9CT Yellow Gold Omega Manual Winding Enamel Dial Men's watch

This is a rare Omega with Enamel dial, there is no cracks of any kind of the dial made probably in 1930's. The case is made of 9kt solid Gold by Denison.
The only draw back is the size which is considered a bit too small for us. May be you can consider for a lady.

Omega

Omega was once had a better reputation than Rolex in Hong Kong in the 60's. As they had a very good quality in their Seamaster Constellation series. Not soon later, Rolex came up with a good promotion programme such that it was being recognized as branded watch than Omega. Later on those pawnshop had a high acceptance value on all Rolex. Since the 70's Rolex had overtaken what Omega had. Nowadays, watch collectors are still lookinng for those Constellations of Omega, the Gold one would be a good collectible items.
The new Omega is still able to maintained a very good quality, I doubt as I had two Omega Seamaster limited edition, both had problem in running without any stoppage. So I decided to give it to freinds.

See t he attached Omega, I did not expect that they do not have good surface polishing on the chamfer. Why? This is a watch for more than HKD500,000.00!

My First Omega

This is my first Omega Classic De Ville.

I bought this watch at one of the small watch shop in Kowloon City with HKD$1,080 in 1976. After ten years, I sold it to one of my best friend KM, KM now is the chief Engineering Officer in one of the Electronics Toy company in HK. He has been using this watch for many years.Omega had once produced the best watch in the 60's and 70's. You know that Omega was once more expensive than Rolex in the same level of watch type. But After 80's Rolex overtaken Omega in price and also quality.

The Hong Kong people had this slogan Man's Three Treasure: Rolex, Dupont and Montaught... These are the most common man's standard Accessory for those aged 25-50 in the 80's. But now, I think only Rolex remains its prestigious status so far. Kowloon City Snob
