New Cartier Watch 2019

Cartier revisits the tonneau form, which made its first appearance in 1906, with this skeletonized rendition displaying two time zones. Crafted in platinum, the manual-winding 9919 MC.

The shape of the movement has been modified, aligning the wheels in the gear train to follow the curve of the case and using the bridges to create sub-dials for easy reading of the two time displays.  100-piece limited edition.

Cartier Santo-Dumont
When a timepiece is this modern in temperament and design, it's hard to imagine that it's actually celebrating its 115th anniversary this year! The new Santos-Dumont watch honours the one which Cartier first imagined in 1904 for the pioneering aviator, Alberto Santos-Dumont. A pink gold case, Roman numerals, visible screws, beaded crown and a blue cabochon carry on the legacy of this truly classic watch. Quartz movement having an automomy of 6 years. I would prefer an manual winding more.

Panther
Cartier creativity and expertise come to life on a grid-like dial whose every miniature square has been hand-painted to recreate the fur of Cartier's beloved feline.
When darkness falls, all that remains are the panther's piercing eyes, which are highlighted with SuperLuminova.

Likely this is the best value purchase for a NOS discontinued Rolex Date in Hong Kong.

Ref 16223 Discontinued Date Just Lapis Blue Dial
Note that the dials are all different in Colour

Ref 116233 Current Production Date Just Onyx Dial

Many people including me have concern on when the next Rolex price adjustment!

Rumour was to increase before the Chinese New Year but it wasn't... and now it seems that it will happen after the Chinese New year? Who know?

What if there is a watch which is still selling the price of 2006 in Shop of Rolex Authorized Dealer, and that is a brand new Rolex of very special dial?

Is that possible? Yes, there are, and these are good stuff if you are not those few people who are so sensitive to Chinese superstitions on colour "Blue"! “難撈”

I find out there are three rare gems in one of the Rolex AD shop in Hong Kong today...

They discontinued since 2006 and has been lying in the shops are years, just because it was blue dial?

But do you know the materials for the dial is Lapis Blue, a kind of beautiful stone, the process of making such kind of dial is tedious and I believe Rolex does not produce many of this kind.... At least I can not see it on many models of Rolex.

The process of turning a piece of raw stone into a piece of Rolex gem dial including inspection of the stone for the best part with even colour and pattern of uniqueness.

Then cut it to the thickness of not more than 0.5 mm and lap to the right precise thickness under a lapping machine. And drill then hole for mounting the diamond at 6, and 9 hour index. Make another square hole for the date at 3 position and at last drill a hole for the Rolex crown.

The yield of making this beautiful dial is very low as 30% and I think it takes a least 10 man hour to produce one of this dial.
Now what if you can buy this great beauty Ref 16233 at 2006 price of HKD$72,950.
This new price of 116233 standard without and. Diamond and Lapis Blue dial has been in the range of HKD$72,500.

And this is a two tone watch with 18KT solid jubilee strap and bezel.

I can say this is the best deal in town for a new Rolex, is you do not mind " blue" colour. After standard 5% discount will be HKD$69,302. If you are lucky enough to get a VIP discount with additional discount? Of course, so long when the stock lasts... Do not miss this chance after these treasure was uncovered.

If you want a newer model of current production on Onyx dial, the price is HKD$94,700 of course the difference is a current production model has a new design strap with hidden clasp deployment. And a Better Feeling of New Production Watch that is it... But I am sure that the Lapis blue is a kind of specialty.

Remember a solid yellow gold Lapis Blue submariner Ref 116110LN had reached a hammer price of HKD$730,000 in 2012 auction. And the dream fountain pen so produced between 1929 to 1939 is Waterman Patrician in "Turquoise". "Lapis Blue" and "Turquoise"; the kind of magic charms of a fascinating colour!

Cartier Panther Watch

Introduced in 1914, the motif, was inspired by Louis Cartier’s fellow jeweler Jeanne Toussaint, who was nicknamed the Panther. Style icons as Chloë Sevigny and Rachel Zoe claimed this to be her favorite piece. Since then most probably, this Panther would have appeared in many forms as ring, pen and watch. This is a white gold wrist watch for woman with the same design from Cartier’s traditional Panther, it is an icon of power, wild untamed, with some echo of women’s non-feminine temper burst out when she is crush on you, or to reward to her talent and ingenuous wills to be successful. Driven by Quartz of course, as this is one of the points lady wants a watch to be… accurate, dependable and needless to adjust, ready to be used. Price HKD$400,000.00 estimated.
PS this watch does not come with diamond on the body, you can use if frequently, like going supermarket!

Cartier

In 1847, Cartier established his name in providing jewelry to the Royal family in Paris. Cartier's jewelry was characterized by a light, airy touch, in contrast to the overly formal and overwrought ornaments of the period. In early 20th century, watch was produced
In 1904, Louis Cartier met the Brazilian aviator, Alberto Santos-Dumont, who complained of the unreliability and inconvenience of pocket watches in flight. Cartier rose to the challenge, designing a flat wristwatch with a distinctive square bezel. This watch was not only a hit with Santos-Dumont, but also with Cartier's many clients. Thus, out of this timeless design, the "Santos" watch was born. Incredibly enough, this Cartier “Santos” watch is still produced today in much the same form.
The introduction of the Baignoire and Tortue Cartier watch models (both of which are still in production today) took place in 1912, followed by the Tank model's debut in 1917. In 1932, the watertight watch, made especially for the Pasha of Marrakesh, raised the bar even higher. Needless to say, the innovations, both in terms of design and technology, continued apace.
Today, Cartier's best-sellers is "Tank" watch ; the hot and fashionable "Tank Francaise", a distinctive sports watch similar in concept to the Santos; the "Pasha" watch, which has become a very fine watch for ladies; and the "Panther" watch , which features a beautiful bracelet available in 18K gold, stainless steel and gold, or stainless steel. The Santos 100 is also one of the hot models for Cartier.
Amongst the recent Cartier watches, Santos 100 solid Pink gold is my favourite, it is priced at HKD$184,000.00.

Vintage Cartier lady Watch

Cartier was founded in 1847 when Louis-François Cartier, then an apprentice to Parisian jeweler Adolphe Picard, took over the business when his master passed away. By 1853, young Louis-François had become a favorite of Napoleon III’s cousin Princess Mathilde, who helped Cartier gain entry to Parisian society.

For the next quarter century, Cartier was strictly a jeweler, but in 1874, Louis-François’...s son Alfred gained the company’s reins. He in turn brought his sons, Louis, Pierre, and Jacques, into the firm—it was this third generation of Cartier that would make the Paris jeweler’s name synonymous with luxury wristwatches.

The first Cartier watches were diamond-studded bracelets for ladies, which were introduced in 1888 and languished until Parisian fashions changed enough in the mid-1890s to encourage the adornment of a bare wrist with a watch.

But the real wristwatch breakthrough came in 1904, when, according to Cartier lore, a Brazilian aviation pioneer named Alberto Santos-Dumont complained to his friend Louis Cartier of the shortcomings of fumbling with a pocket watch on a short test flight. Cartier made his friend a flat, square wristwatch called, appropriately, the Santos. In the process, Cartier popularized wristwatches in France and throughout the world until Today.

In 1912, Cartier introduced the oval Baignoire and tortoise-shell shaped Tortue models, followed in 1917 by Cartier’s most famous early wristwatch, the Tank, which was reportedly inspired by the design of Renault tanks used during World War I. Rudolph Valentino wore a Tank in the 1921 silent classic The Sheik.

In the early 1920s, Cartier partnered with fellow Frenchmen Jaeger and Breguet to produce movements for its watches. Other illustrious Cartier collaborators included Swiss makers Vacheron Constantin, Patek Phillipe, Piaget, and Audemars Piguet.

During the 1920s, Cartier started stamping its watches with four-digit reference numbers—today, knowledgeable collectors know to look for and verify these codes before purchasing an antique Cartier wristwatch. That way, they can tell for certain if the 1932 waterproof Pasha (made for the Pasha of Marrakesh) that they are about to purchase is real or a fake.

By 1940, Cartier had introduced a motoring watch, with a curved shape that was designed to be worn on the inside of the wrist—the winder was on the back of the watch, against the wearer’s skin, rather than the side. And then, in 1942, after the death of Louis Cartier, the company began several decades of stagnation.

Countless variations of the Tank appeared (in the Chinoise, horizontal bars at the top and bottom of the dial rest on the Tank’s vertical "treads"), and in 1965 there was even a watch whose body was shaped like a parallelogram. But it was not until the Must de Cartier in 1976 and the reissue of the Santos in 1978 that the firm was able to reestablish itself as a player on the wristwatch scene.

Attached is an Early 1990 model Lady Panthere, quartz movement, 18KT two tone…

What we would buy for your beloved one in Saint Valentines’ Day?

* Courtesy of Cartier

Life is a time-series of romances a continuum of events and eipsodes that takes us through all peaks and valleys, something faster than we can feel. Time moves in haste, but one thing for sure makes its stand still:Love! Buy a watch for your wife, mistress, parents, daughters and sons... that will keep your intimate relationhsip last till that watch can move...Someone says that it is not necesary to buy anything other than a bunch of flowers.
I would rather prefer watch as whenever she looks at the watch, she might remember you.
Of course if you can afford, buy a Rolex, as its value would likely been maintaining as money tends to depreciating year after year.
For those who are still not going to marry or your budget is limited. You can consider something functional, unique and beautiful. We have found that Lancaster Italy has some beautiful creation of watch, likely not too expensive, in the range of HKD$2,000.
This Lancaster Italy Bongo men's watch is a real Italian statement watch. The sharp black dial along with the black rubber band is sure to dazzle all your friends. It is for men.
How about a gift for girl, well, Rolex Ref 179175, 178274, 179171, 179173, 179171, 178240 or if budget allows go for a Ref 179159. Needless to say a Submariner Ref 116610 LV for after-office usage. If budget is tight, a Technomarine, a Philip Stern, Longines, Movado or a Swatch!

How about a Cartier Ballon Bleu W69002Z2 Pink Gold White Gold with inlaid Diamonds for the sophisticated feminine lady? It does not matter what kind of watch, so long it is from you she will like it.

The Most Beautiful Cartier Watch for Women

This is the watch for woman....though this grey colour strap was the best colour to match with the dial. But I think a black satin strap would be the best to promote the gluster for the diamonds.
