Omega De Ville

The first one was my watch I bought in 1981, it a Omega De Ville, after 30 years till yesterday, a friend of my blog told me he got the same watch shown on the 3rd picture with exception the crown design is different.

I really don't know if there are two variety on the Crown? and There is another pciture should by him that there is white gold plated one?

My one is gold plated with approx 20 microns gold, it is hand winding. I can say this is a good watch also!
Do we have Solid White Gold?

I do have exactly the same Omega De Ville watch.
It is a great watch! I love the fine art it represents.

Mine is the gold plated one.

Although I do not want to sell the watch, I'm still very interested in de price. I have heard that in good conditions they do from €2500,- and up.
Is there any one who dos know if this price estimated is right?

Hi There,

My one is also gold plated, Thick plating...

Well, if there is a good condition one, I think that price is a bit high, I will not hestiate to buy it if that is in the price range of Euro 800 to 1,000!
2,500 is able to buy a gold one I think. But I doubt if there is gold one...

I am afraid 2500 euros, whether it's in pristine condition or not, is way out of line for a vintage De Ville. This is especially true for those with gold plating, which a lot of enthusiasts view as being terminal --- even worse than quartz!
I don't feel quartz is bad, it's just different than mechanical, that's all.
You see, the De Ville was introduced in the 1960's originally as the Seamaster De Ville, a more affordable (which really meant "cheaper") dress watch under the Omega brand name. Their premium dress watch model at the time was the Constellation, which weren't cheap, and were immensely popular. The Constellation came in a variety of dials and case styles, as well as stainless steel, gold-capped, 14k and 18k solid gold, yellow gold, rose gold, and even rare white gold.
I don't think a vintage De Ville is ever going to command 2500 euros, not even an 18k gold one; that honour is reserved for the solid gold Constellation. A good place to check for prices would be Ebay or Chrono24.

Hi All
I was googling to find some info about my De Ville and i found this thread.
The ID number of the solid gold is 111 107. My grandmother purchase it for the wedding of my father and now he gave it to me.
I was not able to find any information on this watch, I can only imagine that it is linked to the Andrew Grima Omega line as its dial is pretty similar to the 511 0379.
I have some picture of the interior of the watch where you can see that it is solid gold 18k. I was curious to know this as I read in this website that there is also a gold plated version.
