From Cannonrun to Lamborghini Countach, Waterman filigree to Rolex Day Date White Gold 1803.

The Cannonball Run is a 1981 Technicolor comedy film starring Burt Reynolds, Roger Moore, Dom DeLuise, Farrah Fawcett, and Jackie Chan. It was produced by Hong Kong's Golden Harvest films, and distributed by 20th Century Fox. One of 1981's most successful films at the box office, it was followed by Cannonball Run II (1984), and Speed Zone (1989).

The story is about a cross-country car race... we could see Dodge Tradesmans Ambulance, red Farrar 308 GTS, Mercedes Benz 280SEL sedan…

Jackie Chan and Michael Hui race in a high-tech, computer-laden Subaru GL 4WD hatchback with a rocket booster engine.

Roger Moore drives a silver Aston Martin DB5.

Jill Rivers (Tara Buckman) and Marcie Thatcher (Adrienne Barbeau), two attractive women who use their looks to their advantage, start the race in a black Lamborghini Countach. My eye was widely open to see such so car super car racing and overtaking the Police cars in few seconds!

Jamie Farr portrays an oil-rich Middle-Eastern sheikh, driving a white Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow.

Jill and Marcie use sex appeal as their weapon, unzipping their race suits to display copious amounts of cleavage during traffic stops.  My eyes opened even wider! However, this fails to work on a busty female traffic officer played in a cameo appearance by actress Valerie Perrine.

That was an amazing film, a lot so stars and fabulous cars of the 70s.

Jeff Ippoliti, a 51-year-old attorney in Celebration, Fla., loved the Movie, So Bought the Lamborghini.

When "The Cannonball Run" came out in 1981, he fell in love with the 1979 Lamborghini Countach LP 400S that's in the first scene. He thought it was the coolest car ever, and he didn't know any kid his age who didn't have a poster of it on his wall.

After he bought the car, he immediately put the car in a 2½-year restoration by Lamborghini expert Tony Lerardi. We made it true to the movie. The 12 exhaust pipes, even the CB antennae—it's all there in exact detail. Refer to the pictures.

So As I love this Black Countach, but I am afraid I could not afford buying such a car…

This story started with car end ended with Watch, the first time I saw a gentleman with silver lines wearing a Watch… It was a Rolex… I noticed that with an additional Window at the 12’ o’clock position…

Curiosity pushed me to find out more… Oh, that watch was called “Day Date” the flagship of Rolex… That’s why I could recall I saw a lot of Time  magazine that carried this watch as an ad.

It is white colour as the man’s choice, he loved Sterling Silver, he loved Waterman Sterling silver filigree fountain pen. He used to carry his White Gold Rolex Day Date Ref 1803, and a Waterman Sterling Silver Filigree fountain pen 452.

Rolex Day Date in White gold Ref 1803, 1977

I was wearing a Rolex Stainless Steel Date Just with White gold fluted bezel, I told myself whenever I could afford I should get one of those White Gold Day Date.

You cannot get everything you like for example a 1979 Lamborghini Countach… but at least I get a Rolex…white gold Day Date one of the best from Rolex.

The Moral of the story, you cannot get everything in the world, get something you can afford and it could last… Like a Countach., till now, it is a Collectible Vintage… Like a White Gold Day Date.. is it very pricy!

Someone criticizes me… It is partly because of me that makes the price go up! Really!?

May be... as these are all truly Classic!
