四年前，有位朋友委託我在香港的開放市場幫忙找這隻錶。我花了幾天時間，最終在尖沙咀找到一位錶商，當時的價格是 49.5萬港元，全套全新未拆封。

 

當時我的一位前同事（也是某公司的MD）得知我買了這隻錶，也想要一隻。於是我在第一筆交易後的第五天，又幫他找到了另一隻，價格是 54萬港元。我當時跟他說：「如果你將來想賣，請先問問我，我可以幫你處理。」

 

到了2025年，當我詢問第一位買家是否願意出售時，他斬釘截鐵地說：「不賣！」我當時還問：「真的嗎？現在價格已經接近100萬港元了……」（目前 Chrono24 的掛牌價介於102萬至124萬之間）。短短四年，這隻錶已經升值了近 100%。我很了解他，他根本不需要急著變現。

 

相反地，當我再問那位前同事時，暗示他如果需要現金周轉，現在是套現的好時機。他卻不好意思地告訴我，他在兩年前就已經賣掉了。我問他為何不先問我一聲？我明白他的理由，想必是他自己私下處理的。沒關係，這是他的選擇。但根據我的估計，他當時賣出的價格大概只有 60萬港元 左右。

 

總之，這世上沒有絕對的對錯，一旦你需要用錢，確實只能將資產變現（Cash out）。

 

但據我所知，這款錶目前在市場上的流通量非常稀少。如果按照這個趨勢發展下去，我預計到了2026年底，它的價格有望突破 140萬港元。

Rolex Day Date 128348RBR is more than just a WATCH! (Eng)

 

Four years ago, a friend asked me to buy this watch for him in Hong Kong's open market. It took me a couple of days to locate a dealer in Tsim Sha Tsui. The price was HK$495,000 for a full set, brand new in box. It is a rare Day Date embedded with a turquoise dial!

 

My former colleague, who was the CEO of a company, heard that I had bought this watch and wanted one too. I sourced another one for him five days after my first purchase, at HK$540,000. I told him, "If you ever want to sell, let me know first—I might be able to help."

 

In 2025, when I asked my first client if he wanted to sell, he said, "No!" I was surprised and mentioned that the price was already close to HK1 million (Chrono24 is currently listing them between HK1.02M to 1.24M). The watch has appreciated nearly 100% in four years. I know him well; he doesn't need the cash.

When I spoke to my ex-colleague again, I suggested it might be a good time to sell if he needed extra funds. He told me shyly that he had actually sold it two years ago. I asked him why he didn't come to me first. I understand why—he probably handled it himself. It’s okay, it was his choice. However, I believe he only got around HK$600,000 for it at the time.

 

Anyway, there is no right or wrong here. Once you need money, you can always cash it in.

 

As far as I know, there are very few of these watches available on the market. Based on this trend, it could reach HK$1.4 million by the end of 2026.

We see people in HK under 30 do not wear a wristwatch anymore… seriously, that "Fruit" watch isn’t a real watch.

 

A real man at our age should wear a watch—a mechanical watch. That is a signal that cuts through all time.

 

I am not saying you need to wear a Swiss timepiece worth HK$200,000. The point is, you wear a mechanical watch that communicates and respects time.

 

It shows he carries rhythm in his life.

 

It does not depend on pulling out that glowing thing from your pocket every time to check time.

 

Women love to see what you wear. Of course, not just your watch, but also your shoes, trousers, and a decent white button-down shirt.

Watch Authentication in Hong Kong (Eng)

As so far for dial and case, the A grade clone can do almost copy 90% but still some of the parts such as , balance wheel, part and polish cannot be copied.

if you are not too sure, go for an authentication, that give you a peace of mind for the next few decades wearing your precious purchase no matter from a friend or a dealer.

What we should normally for authentication say for a Rolex Submariner 126610LN

1. Check the watch cosmetic, hands dial, crown, bracelet on construction, imprint and polish.

2. Check the S/N number see if this is a stolen or smuggled watch * 1

3. Check the warranty card, box and booklet, there happened fake card and box.

4. Check watch function, time keeping, beat error and amplitude see if it is "healthy" or not on a Timegrapher. A Rolex should meet +4 -2 second as COSC standard of Rolex. 

5. Check waterproof on a dray pressure tester.

6. Open the watch to see the Caliber, movement and mark down the S/N of movement 

They normally can tell if that is an authentic Rolex or a fake of a Frankenwatch immediately.

A statement will put down all the detail on a document.

Where to do this. Rolex Service centre has no such service since 2012 or 3.

Normally they charge you HK$1,800. the time is about 45 minutes as they have to do a lot of works, tests and prepare the record for you.

I think the discontinuing of Pepsi is due to the colour of Red to be made in the ceramic bezel, they cannot improve with a stable manufacturing process for a consistent Pantone Red on it, If you can find the first release Mark I of Pepsi 126710BLRO in real full set (2018) Keep it as the "Pink bezel" The MK1's bezel is more pinkish, almost a fresco of color, much more sought-after because it has created a patinated hue, it shall fetch a price of HK $420,000 after three to five years!
