New Rolex Cellini Series has arrived HKIA Rolex AD in Hong Kong!

The new Cellini collection including Cellini, Date and Dual Time, Automatic movement has arrived in HKIA just now.
There is White Gold, Yellow Gold and Everose gold that is casted by Rolex foundry.

Their round shape 39 mm diameter are marks of tradition, while the refined lugs, the polished finish and the double bezel – one domed and the second delicately fluted is an extension of the Oyster Series.

They are either lacquered or embellished with a black or a silver-plated classic “Rayon flammé de la gloire” guilloche motif, and adorned with gold applique hour markers.

The Dual Time White Gold is my Preferred model.

Just I feel that their position of price is much higher than the previous Cellini.

Perhaps I'm biased, But I think the Cellini is Rolex's Achilles heel.
Rolex is famous for making tool watches, those that are built for a specific purpose.
For example, Submariner for diving, GMT Master for pilots, Explorer for sports and mountain climbing, Yacht Master for sailing, Milgauss for engineers, etc.
The closest thing to a dress watch that Rolex pumped out (which people still respect) is the Datejust, and still that ain't no dress watch. To many, the Cellini is not even considered a real Rolex, and certainly is not in the same league as a Patek, Vacheron, or Lange. Even Omega makes more classy dress watches than the Cellini, especially at prices that Rolex is asking for.

Hi JTK
You are right, curreent hand winding dress watch Cellini is selling about HKD$45,000. That to certain extent I like that and In fact I used to have two before.
From various comment and from the sales data of Cellini which is not good.

That is the reason why Rolex wnats to make something new : dual Time, Automatci and with Second hands. But the price is really matters, very expensive, I am afraid that is not a good move for Rolex too.
We will watch and see

Hi Snob,
I feel Rolex is a rather complicated watch company. Their watches are very conservative in design, and (small) changes often take decades to happen.
However, I do admire them for having a certain charm in their stubborness to not follow trendy designs. That's why many of their watch models became so iconic and their styling endured for generations.
That said, because the looks of their sports watches are so successful, it seems they don't quite know how to design a proper dress watch. With each redesign of the Cellini, something just doesn't look right. Maybe Rolex should hire out the designing of the Cellini to independent designers to see if they could get it right.

Hi JTK,
Yes, you are right, some what like Isuzu , their truck seems to be better than compact car. And their bike is even better than the truck.
Like Montblanc pen should be better than in name than the Wallet jot until last 10 years started to tremendous effort on watch, but as i pen collector, i like the Haminway Fountain pen.
Back to Rolex, there is no way to compare Piaget or Calastrava as they have good tradition and has been icon for dress watch. As For AP, seems the most successful line is still ROOS.
