有朋友問: 手錶一隻，花那麼多錢值得嗎?

我這樣看錶，是!

女人可以花錢在手袋，皮鞋，手飾，手錶，鑽石，衣服，化裝品,及.她們花錢在可以花得上的籍口上!

男仕就有相對少得多溝道花钱，但如果你富有而又喜歡花錢，也有很多渠道，汽車，飛機，遊艇，衣篩，，但是一隻手錶是是你每天好用得著的東西。手錶變成你品味，你的取向，讓別人知道你的銷費能力。

我有一同學，平時吾多說話，時不時拿往本聖經，讀書OK個隻，在麾托羅拉做了十多年。收入吾錯喇。自己搬開住邨屋，做關人忍仕，有一個星期二，重未見人上班。公司的同事，可能是死黨，電話找不到他，好奇心俱使下，去家中找他，眼見家中燈火通明，枱面放了煮好飯餸。他自己一個人，無老婆無子女，可能未拍個拖因為上帝是他致好的朋友。他己倒在地上，失去知覺.....大約三天了!

隨後的三個星期，我有去醫院見佢，他全身無反應，就這樣走左喇，他只有四十三歲。

這往往是很複雜的心理因素。

有人月入廿萬，可以住半山，開馬沙拉蒂，生日開1989的Petrvs...手帶大石圈的Daytona。佢有本事囉，佢話人生好講吾埋好化學。隨時蒙主龐召。有得吃就吃，有得玩就玩，有得睡就睡，有得笑就笑得大聲一些，買錶要買嚇得人。要好多好大的長方石。係都係愛戴勞力士之人。

用力的去花錢, 經濟才有轉變，大家都吾花錢，香港經濟點會好呢?

任何揾錢，花錢，储錢，也好，你開心就得喇。

不過我如果有多一些的錢，我會買這東西!

人生的下半埸

一天，有朋友問起，我五十七歲，再做過三年六十退休。
對，我亦不寄望六十再做下去了。而公司亦大都會找別人接上去!

理所當然，找年輕一些接班人，化算多呵!
人工低D，有衝勁D，大胆D，撞板多D算上課，我地這些"三個五"無多用了。

三個五者即年薪五十萬元薪水，五十幾歲.了。五慢，手脚，眼，耳，口都慢過人。佢地想法都是一樣的。你有見過他請四十六歲的新入行工程師嗎?你同我講有人夠胆請嗎?


有人五十歲，辭去做了廿多年的政府官去讀書並且娶了一個老婆。你會嗎? 這是與非局外人很難作此決定。

我覺得五十來歲，還算年青。人生的經驗很難錢去量的。一些错誤的決定住住另公司輸掉年薪十倍的錢。無法子，人人都是先為已，再為人。請用年青人，短期表面數字靚嗎，長遠喎，下一位主管的問題了。一為偉大的領導者，真難遇見呵!

部門主管辭職走了，就請一些空降傘兵囉，他知道這。但面子尤關，本公司有制度，無邊一個都得的，真的嗎?新人是很難一時間對公司作出大的供貢獻喎? 當然很多公司都是這樣吊盬水發莓下去。

蕷果的喬布斯死去，蘋果擁躉講蘋果有的是錢，可以再請十個有喬布斯能力的人幫助發展蘋果。
我和他吵得熱，當時我話未必，喬是天才，加上天時地利人吾和才造成昨天成功的蘋果。喬死了一年多你覺得蘋果還可以前吸毒般的使人著迷嗎?

我覺得人生經歷都很重要，有一些人知己滿天下，有多方面與趣。退休真係不仇寂寞了。

相反，退休後日日在家做清潔，去公園到發白日夢，勉懷過去在公司的呼風唤雨的日子，錢有了，但這日子不是退休而是"退憂"!

我有一班玩撈的老友。真係越玩越過癮!
週六萃華吹水，品評Rolex錶，週日去鴨記看二首錶，尋寶找胆找舊水筆，去權記，聯成，科寶，胆皇，HI FI Shop 找阿軍吹水，上五樓找阿Paul 找唱片，不亦樂乎!

六十歲退休，正正是人生下半場的揭幕禮!

South Korea's devastating ferry disaster has elicited messages of sympathy, condolence and support from around the world. The 6,825-tonne Sewol capsized and sank on 16 April morning with 476 people on board. Up to this moment, death tolls reached 61.

I had mentioned on 16 Apr Wed on a Post : Time has change, but my watch hasn’t…I  had written :

I know one guy who wears his shoes and his only Rolex to sleep, do you know why?.... the answer could possibly makes you laugh!

He is a friend of mine, his name is Tsang Yip, being the No. 1 Chef on board a general cargo ship, I went to stay on his ship anchored in Shimonoseki in 1982.

He has all the alertness of sea bound safety!

He wears a leather shoes and his Rolex Date Just, he puts his passport in pocket when he goes to bed!

He told me there are no times for you to get out of the ship when the ship sinks! EVERY MINUTE COUNTS!

Same cases for those people who wear plastic slippers onboard aircraft, these people have lesser chance to live after an accident as they cannot walk through the fuselage on fire!

Well, this is what really keeps me remembering No. 1 Chef Tsang’s  saying…

I think next time when you travel on sea cruise, take certain precaution.

1. Try a ship with national flag like Britain, America, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Germany, France, Canada, China, …

Try not to go for those registered Flag like Panama, Monrovia, African country except South Africa as most of their safety regulation, maintenance record, list of life saving facilities, equipment test, safety drill record is not as strict or up to standard as those Ship flying national flag listed above.

 These countries provide a CONVIENT channel for the ship owner to save cost!!

2. Familiarize where emergency exit, find where the Hand torch light is.

3. When you hear noise, shock, BLACK OUT, ship is tilted suddenly, wake up and be alert.

4. Go to the bridge if you can as this is the command deck.

5. Make your own judgment  on the Captain’s announcement sometimes may not be telling you the right action as they always want to buy time to fix after the disaster or not to create chaos. That may cause delay to escape.

6. Join the Life and Fire Drill as you are required by Captain.

7. Run out to bridge or deck level, provided the weather is tolerable

8. Hold a torch light and wear a Life jacket

9. Standby at the life boat

10. Get an Axe. There should be one axe minimum at the fire hose near the hatch area on every floor. There is no way to break the glass of the window as they are made to withstand wind and water!

機場閙鬼?

君不見機場勞力士店昨年六月已開幕,由一班有經驗有活力的人仕打理，生意蒸蒸日上。
而打對枱的Chanel 店就一直都未見開張，令那些城中濶太無機會用她黑礸卡買袋，五千呎店，掉空十一個月，你估講笑! 月租四百萬，點解?

聽講裝修時有人見到鬼，之後就冇裝修工人入去工作。下次搭夜晚機，時運低的就最好吾好行太近!

計我話，有人攪鬼就真!

復活節生意

復活節並不帶來從前的大銷售額。

強國人D大款吾見哂，以前一入店就好有氣勢的指着這個說包起佢，拿過來!

而家佢地好有"氣細"問，幾多折，幾多錢，調頭就走人!

今過星期我只幫一個住在香港的印度珠寶啇人買了一隻勞力士，一隻卡地亞比，另一個德國人買了一隻金銀Date Just 比他女友，兩人都超爽快，不用十分鐘就完成交易。但全部每隻都低於十萬元的。撈九折，卡地亞八折。

香港一般打工仔的銷費力己大不如前。

1998年，我們公司請維修工程師大學畢業底薪$12,000，每年都有十五到最高十六個半月人工，但這兩三年，大學畢業生底薪$13,000。今年最好的那一羣拿十四個半月。但想一想，今天的通脹比十五年前差得太多。

八十早年代我月薪九千元，當時一隻勞力鋼皇是$5,025, 今天我每月底薪買不到一隻鋼皇*了!

I got a WhatsApp from a good friend who is the General Manager of a company…this is his message:

“I knew you will argue with this. The reason is - the real rich man doesn't need to show off. It is same as李嘉誠 (Lee Kar Shing) doesn't need to wear Rolex to tell people that he is rich.... We all know Mr. Ip is a Rolexman.”

My Reply :

“I told you already I am a poor snob....Lee Kar Shing is another type of people.

PERMA is factor for happiness:

-Positive emotion

-Engaging

-Relationship

-Meaning

-Accomplishment....

I am sure Lee is a positive emotion people, he is engaging with a lot of his business, and he has his meaning to live. And he has a good accomplishment in creating his Wealth!!

I believe buying a Rolex and the "World" is the difference if poor me and Lee Kar Shing…..in terms of accomplishment...

I can buy a Rolex and he cannot buy the world...

I can go to SSP shopping.

He can only appear in the golf club...

I eat Foie Gras, he eats Chiu Chow congee... and boiled Sweet potatoes added two slices of ginger… once a week!

Also I don’t think he has good relationship with most of the people...only those rich ball lickers and the scam politicians!

I am sure Mr. Lee can afford tons Rolex but he has no guts to wear a Rolex at all...  As if he wears a Rolex which he has not been doing for many years, people will start to speculate “What’s Wrong with Lee Kar Shing” why he becomes so Materialized so much” all in a sudden!?

I am free to go eat and chit chat as much as I can… I talk to The boss of the oldest LP shop, the HK largest LP Collector Paul who has 500,000 pieces of LP in SSP, the Owner and salesman of Audio Space, the shop owner for R/C toys hop, “Ah Kwun” who is owner of “Hi Fi Shop”, the sales of Lung Shing Watch Shop or Kuen Kee Watch Company, the old man who opens his street store selling old stuff, the shop owner of Kwun Yik Electronics. The chap who used to sell loudspeaker as a heritage from his father who I know for many years and many other people who earns a living at Ap Liu Street… I am a one who walks into Ap Liu Street that everyone will talk to me...

Of course if Lee Kar Shing walks into Ap Liu Street, there will be front page news on TVB news channel the same night likely “Lee Kar Shing walks into Ap Liu Street for his first time… He may want to buy the Whole Ap Liu Street and convert it into a new commercial building…. And there will be an estimated 50,000 DISLIKEs in one day at fb…

Anyway, I was a bit overwhelmed that someone compares me with the Richest man in Hong Kong…

池記隨想: 勞力士上市?

池記隨想

好久未食過池記雲吞麵，今天和小女去旺角朗豪坊池記吃雲吞.

結果是: "大失望!"

重口味湯底，雲吞外暖內冷，雲吞都未煮透，或者講人客太多，把雲吞掉進湯就立刻拿出嚟比人食。

以前湯底有虾籽的，而家虾屎都無你份!雲吞死死實實，雲吞皮足足2mm厚，零鲜味!

今天人地客人多，人人吃麵也要名牌，今日池記雲吞同十多年前東京開第一家分店那時的雲吞完全係兩樣嘢!

一家公司產品每每都比貪錢既老闆攪壞。

一但公司產品被客人受落人，老闆又出屎橋:

縮皮喇，湯底，雲吞料，縮多D就等如賺多D。都吾怪佢地，你比D好嘢你地食，排大隊，比差D的嘢食，都有人排隊。

1957年代JB Lansing Hartsfield 喇叭

五十年代出品，屬較少見的家庭用機，當時的喇叭多為劇院及戲院所用。此喇叭在中高低音各方面表現細緻又快速，不拖泥帶水，音尾合理且音樂感強烈，磁鐵是鋼磁，今天基本上所有新喇叭都用粉磁製造，又係成本作怪囉！故Hartsfield在發燒級玩家眼中有王者之聲稱號，絕對有價難求。當年九千元，是一層八百呎樓的價錢。

九十年代JBL 喇叭再無經典之作，無他的，走池記方向，縮皮囉，但亦跟整個大璟環境和消費能力有關係嘅!

今天一對像樣的Hartsfield 要三十多萬。

以前生產手錶的方法，在今天好難揾食，休想賺錢。

"拍德犀利"手錶今天全手造嗎?無可能了，只有機器無法代替情況下才用手打磨，這才最合乎高利益的生產法。並不是要晒手功! 

所以中古手錶魅力没法擋，因為想當年的手錶存大部份是手造的。

而上市公司並不代表公司產品最具品質，所以千其吾希望勞力士上市，因為要為大小股東交代，追求"短期"利潤，有些時候利潤和理想及品質好難共全的!

到時那怕勞力士出陀飛輪，三問，四方蚝殼!
一萬元的學生錶，一年出足每型號三四隻色，五花八門，你要地通娜鋼錶?馬上送上一百隻比代理。後果呢。大家知道喇。。。。

勞力士立即變"溜力士"!。。。。。玩完!

Those Were The Days ...Just!

The term nostalgia describes sentimentality for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations.

Those who are over 50 may know what I am talking about.

 A Wanton noodles with Three Wanton was selling at HKD$0.30 in 1966

We used to have an economy class Wanton noodles with 3 wanton in one bowl which I had to pay just HKD$0.3. Whilse some other shop sold Wanton Noodle at HKD$0.5. The taste was fantastic and until now my palate still remind me those were the real good stuff!

People criticizes me how comes a bowl of 3O cents Wanton was yummy!

He said that because we were in the 70’s people is prone to be satisfied anything that can stuff up our stomach, not mentioned about taste. I don't agree… why!?

I told him that is wrong, as matter of fact people nowadays are prone to lose the discernment on food critics.

We did not have fast food in HK back in 60, the first hamburger was made locally by one restaurant owner in Hung Hom before the official landing of the US fast Food invader Burger King and then  MacDonald.

We had a formula to make Wanton Noodle soup, we used shrimp head, shrimp shell and Tai Dei fish boiled for overnight for soup, nowadays may be an easier process just some pork or bone from the cow and some Aji-No-Moto to make the soup instantly!

The Wanton of the 60s consisted of a shrimp, port, fats, some bamboo soot to add some chewing favour, nowadays, Wanton means a “Shrimp Dumpling” a single big whole shrimp and no meat! What is the Originality of Wanton… has gone!

Why? As a bigger Wanton sized like your fist with shrimp only can ask for HKD$50 dollar, if you put pork, fat and some touches of shrimp with size of the chess nut probably you cannot sell more than HKD$20.00.

We used to have Chinese onion and now people just put the white portion of Chinese onion or “Kor Wong” to show that the Wanton noodles has been made from Expensive ingredient but the taste is not as tasted as good as we were enjoying some 40 years ago using green union.

Well, not just because I was poor at that time, because of the attitude how people made food for the living, they had the passion to make the wanton best of it kind.

People likes to listen to vinyl record not just because of the audio quality, somehow they could remember those were the days, when they were young, listening to Old pa’s 3 in 1 Audio equipment.

Somehow people drink Chateau Latour 1959, Chateau Lafifte 1996 because that is the birthday of oneself and his beloved daughter. These are the best wine that you probably cost you a Rolex Submariner Ref 116613LB.

When we were in golden old day, Rolex had already built the Date Just Ref 1601 which was sold for HKD$900 in 1962 and a Day Date Ref 1803 about HKD$5,000. What impress us is that the quality of such a watch will be good enough to be compared with the best watch made today with similar price level with Accuracy, Reliability, style, Value, Function…

but still I believe you being a discerning taste of appreciate good stuff and good olden day we once had had, I believe you would like to stick to the good old watch to be matching you on your powerful wrist that could possible steer your life to a better direction.
