Truly you need to go for a Trustworthy supplier for you Real Stuff: Rolex

Everyone wants to get the best deal using his money for his dream watch…

Who told you that Millionaires do not negotiate price?

I have seen Multi-millionaire who used to take bags of the sugar at airport Lounge back home…He likes negotiation as he told me that is the fun part.

They wear Giordano Khaki jeans and G-2000 Jacket to work… but they earn easily USD$3M a years.

Somehow it is not bad to be tire kickers, but beware real stuff cannot be so CHEAP!

There are many ways that seller can make a product looks expensive but in fact they are real cheap!

Such as for a Watch… Some used watch could be polished a bit to become Like new or Claimed to be Brand new.

Don't be feel bad for a watch that has lines of scratches if that is used watch, it must have scratches.

On the other hand, a 20 years used watch does not have any scratches.. that means it has been polished…heavily!

I don't mind scratches but I mind being heavily Polished… Unless that watch is hand polished.. Who will hand polish for you nowadays…?

So next time you buy a used Watch ask…

1.       Is that polished?

2.       Is that a Franken Watch.. a Pinoy who told me he bought  a 10 watches in one shop, not even one was accepted by Rolex Manila for servicing, because all are genuine  Rolex but of wrong misplaced parts or we called “Frankenwacth” the dial, bezel, hands and bracelets are all Lego-fixed…

3.       So you should talk to them what if you can we refund or replaced!?  Well, Kuen Kee can refund if that watch is not genuine.. That give you assurance…

Buying a Watch is fun, if you bought a Franken Rolex.. You will get mad, even you are Millionaires. As your feel like being cheated or being ripped off!

Always go to a reliable source…. Reputation is the key!

From Cannonrun to Lamborghini Countach, Waterman filigree to Rolex Day Date White Gold 1803.

The Cannonball Run is a 1981 Technicolor comedy film starring Burt Reynolds, Roger Moore, Dom DeLuise, Farrah Fawcett, and Jackie Chan. It was produced by Hong Kong's Golden Harvest films, and distributed by 20th Century Fox. One of 1981's most successful films at the box office, it was followed by Cannonball Run II (1984), and Speed Zone (1989).

The story is about a cross-country car race... we could see Dodge Tradesmans Ambulance, red Farrar 308 GTS, Mercedes Benz 280SEL sedan…

Jackie Chan and Michael Hui race in a high-tech, computer-laden Subaru GL 4WD hatchback with a rocket booster engine.

Roger Moore drives a silver Aston Martin DB5.

Jill Rivers (Tara Buckman) and Marcie Thatcher (Adrienne Barbeau), two attractive women who use their looks to their advantage, start the race in a black Lamborghini Countach. My eye was widely open to see such so car super car racing and overtaking the Police cars in few seconds!

Jamie Farr portrays an oil-rich Middle-Eastern sheikh, driving a white Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow.

Jill and Marcie use sex appeal as their weapon, unzipping their race suits to display copious amounts of cleavage during traffic stops.  My eyes opened even wider! However, this fails to work on a busty female traffic officer played in a cameo appearance by actress Valerie Perrine.

That was an amazing film, a lot so stars and fabulous cars of the 70s.

Jeff Ippoliti, a 51-year-old attorney in Celebration, Fla., loved the Movie, So Bought the Lamborghini.

When "The Cannonball Run" came out in 1981, he fell in love with the 1979 Lamborghini Countach LP 400S that's in the first scene. He thought it was the coolest car ever, and he didn't know any kid his age who didn't have a poster of it on his wall.

12 Exhaust Pipes and CB Antenna

After he bought the car, he immediately put the car in a 2½-year restoration by Lamborghini expert Tony Lerardi. We made it true to the movie. The 12 exhaust pipes, even the CB antennae—it's all there in exact detail. Refer to the pictures.

Jeff Ippoliti's Lamborghini Countach LP 400S.

So As I love this Black Countach, but I am afraid I could not afford buying such a car…

This story started with car end ended with Watch, the first time I saw a gentleman with silver lines wearing a Watch… It was a Rolex… I noticed that with an additional Window at the 12’ o’clock position…

Curiosity pushed me to find out more… Oh, that watch was called “Day Date” the flagship of Rolex… That’s why I could recall I saw a lot of Time  magazine that carried this watch as an ad.

Courtesy picture of Fountain Pen Network

It is white colour as the man’s choice, he loved Sterling Silver, he loved Waterman Sterling silver filigree fountain pen. He used to carry his White Gold Rolex Day Date Ref 1803, and a Waterman Sterling Silver Filigree fountain pen 452.

Rolex Day Date in White gold Ref 1803, 1977

I was wearing a Rolex Stainless Steel Date Just with White gold fluted bezel, I told myself whenever I could afford I should get one of those White Gold Day Date.

You cannot get everything you like for example a 1979 Lamborghini Countach… but at least I get a Rolex…white gold Day Date one of the best from Rolex.

The Moral of the story, you cannot get everything in the world, get something you can afford and it could last… Like a Countach., till now, it is a Collectible Vintage… Like a White Gold Day Date.. is it very pricy!

Someone criticizes me… It is partly because of me that makes the price go up! Really!?

May be... as these are all truly Classic!

What a father leave a son?

A Rolex 17 Rubis Movement

A fortune? Mansions? Power?

How about a watch that never quite seems to lose its value?

An English gentleman found a watch when he was clearing what his late father has left him. It is estimated that the watch was bought by the man’s father around 10 – 20 years ago for 10 pounds. The watch comes without a strap and it does not work very smoothly during winding. He then tried to auction off his watch and was informed that the watch sold for 56k pounds.

The watch’s value literally increased 5,500 times.

What watch is it? It is a Rolex 17 Rubis Panerai 3636, which was used by frogmen of the Royal Italian Navy during WWII. The watch was developed by Panerai using a Rolex movement.

What does this story tell you?

First, auction is an amazing thing. It can help you discover the true value of things.

Second, buy yourself, or your son a watch, be it a Rolex, a Bulova, a Panerai or a Seiko. It is one of the best things that can keep or even increase its value after years pass by.

I sometimes doubt whether these stories are true. However, what is true is that the value of a good watch never fades. Watches for divers are especially hot. Look at military Panerai or Comex Rolex.

These watches are for divers and carry a certain kind of glamor to men. Moreover, these watches are historically important.

How about if your father does not leave you a Rolex or a Panerai?

Never mind young man. Not every father can afford a Rolex. But I believe that most fathers want to make sure that his sons can. Do not blame your father if he leaves you a 1k HKD Seiko. Instead, wear it with pride because its value cannot be counted by any calculator.

A diver is meant to dive, so as the diver Watch!?

Rolex DeepSea D- Blue Ref 116660 Super Diving Watch

A diver is meant to dive!

We all treasure our Rolex watches. They are expensive and precious. They represent our hard work and they are a symbol of status. Seldom do we put our Rolex in dangerous situations. The Rolex Submariner is an icon of modern Rolex. It is 300m water-resistant. But of course wearers do not really dive with it. Some people may wash it with water but that is probably the most “dangerous” situation it may face.

So, how about leaving your Rolex in the sea for 14 months? Do you dare even thinking about it? Do you expect the watch still works?

The story goes like this.

A gentleman went fishing in British Colombia while the bracelet of his Rolex two-tone Submariner was somehow snagged on his fishing rod (I don’t know how he did that). The Submariner flew into the sea and quickly disappeared. As the gentleman knew the watch must be somewhere within the area he fished, he located the area with GPS (Prompt action it is! We normally just panic!). Later, he paid local dredging 85USD per hour in the hope of finding the watch somewhere. **

After 14 months, the watch was found in the middle of debris and sediments at the depth of about 100m. After some winding, the watch still worked!

We can learn a few things from this story.

First, a Rolex is usually very tough. So, if you have ever scratched your watch and yelled for a polish, stop and wear your watch like a hero because a Rolex is meant to be scratched, especially a diver.

Second, Rolex sports watches are true tool watches. They can withstand extreme situations. If you think your bracelet is too loose or too tight and go to RSC requesting for a change or repair, you should never do it again. Wear your watch happily. Picking on Rolex’s quality is an easy thing to do while making a diver that still works after 14 months in the sea is hard.

Third, wearing a Rolex makes you think faster. If it had been a Seiko that had fallen into the sea, the gentleman would not have thought of the idea of locating the area with GPS and recording it.

Fourth, Always remember to tighten the crown properly with a push, hold and align the thread by anticlockwise say 90 degree and then clockwise to tighten up. This preserves the misalignment and cause damage on to the screw thread.

A diver is meant to dive. It is not meant to be worn in showers where some may worry that the watch will be damaged by water vapor. Go for a Day Date if you wear a suit. Haha Again ; Day Date!

**
I doubt with today current technology is that so simply to find a watch in the sea?

Is GPS can be located a watch of size of an egg in the sea bed?

Remarks

The GPS signal in space will provide a "worst case" pseudo-range accuracy of 7.8 meters at a 95% confidence level. (This is not the same as user accuracy; pseudo-range is the distance from a GPS satellite to a receiver.). Now the things is in the sea, should be more complicated…

Why MH307 is not found?

Tribute to Rolex Day Date ref 18039 and 18049

My Day Date 18039 and Kim Tae Won's 18049

My Rolex Day Date 18049

HK Snob, Kim Tae Won and DH Lim

I never feel imperfect about my Day Date White Gold watch.
It is a great watch under all weather.

It is dependable and it has the maximum function that I need for work and minimum function that could keep the watch simple and tough.

The pearl grey colour of white gold is like Monica Belucci lying at the Sicilian beach... and once in a while it turns herself into Charming Kim Kardashian at Beverly Hills.

It never lose its lustre, it never lose face to the other luxury watch, Patek, AP, VC, RM, RG, FM, whatever...

It is never too aggressive neither.

It is a watch for successful men and the individuals who live in a low profile way.

Best of the bunch at Baselworld 2016

HK Snob Personal Score on Rolex

This is purely my personal preference, as being a Day Date lover, I always be a honest fan on precious Metal, gold or platinum.

This year's Rolex best of the Bunch is the Green Dial Rolex Daytona in 18 KT Yellow Gold.

Such a Rolex Green with red trim on the sub dial touched up with a Red "Daytona" below the centre of the hands are amazing. I believe this dial design is everlasting for me.

The most attractive for most of the Rolex Fans are no Question the White Daytona steel version.

Panda Like Daytona are likely be the hot star of all Rolex Daytona Lover.

Ref 116500LN MSRP 11,800 CHF or EU$10,740
Likely this watch will be set at List price of HKD$100,000.

I believe that the market price will be higher than the MSRP, unless Rolex will product the watches to fulfill everyone's request.... No way, remember this is the best skill of Rolex marketing: "less is more!"

I have already received 4 people with 5 orders all on the WHITE Panda.

One has already placed me Cash USD$4,000 such that he has the right to get it on the FIRST Hand, of course, Money Talks...

If you want to get this watch, you can talk to us and we will do our best to get few pieces in June (I guess they will launch at June), or people will smash the Rolex AD window glass to snap the display Daytona at Bucherer.

Baselworld 2016 – notable novelties

Baselworld 2016 – notable novelties

So here we are finally, after all the longing and waiting, the Baselworld 2016 Watch Fair is underway. The moves of the brands this year are quite predictable, to be honest by HK Watch Fever Group.

Rolex and Patek Philippe remain to be the center of all spotlight.

Zenith and Breguet have each given us some nice new watches as well.

The long awaited new Rolex Daytona 116500LN is out this year. It comes with two dial options, black and white, with their sub-dials surrounded by grey rings and black rings respectively.

The ceramic bezels are black on both models. The white dial version seems to be more handsome than the black dial one as it is too dark in the overall tone. Other than that, the white dial version also reminds us of the “Paul Newman” Daytona.

The ceramic bezel’s engraved graduations are coated with a layer of platinum – just like other Rolex ceramic bezels.
The movement remains to be Cal 4130. However, Rolex is not testing all its watches with its own standard of +2/-2 seconds per day. Impressive, isn’t it? The new Daytona also meet such rigid standard.

The new Daytona 116500LN will certainly be a hit. If you do not have a Daytona yet, buy this. If you already have a Daytona, save up for a gold 116508 which now bears the new style tachymeter bezel and a green dial for now. As the reference number 116500 states, the new Daytona may not replace the ref 116520 which may leave us with two options in style – an elegant polished steel bezel or a sporty ceramic bezel.

Other than the Daytona, Rolex also releases a new Air King ref 116590. The views on this watch polarize. Some say it is an unusual watch and some say it is handsome. Let’s get into the aesthetics of the new 40mm Air King. My personal Comment is very good as The yellow and Green can stand out sharp on the dial.

What attract me most are the yellow crown and the green “Rolex” fonts underneath it at 12o’o clock. It is special and catchy. The second thing worthy noting is that Rolex blends the minute markers 3,6,9 with minute markers 5,10,20,25,35,40,50,55.

In pilot watches we often see minute markers to be 5,10,15,20,25,30….The fonts of “Air King” at six o’ clock is vintage-inspired. The second hand of the new Air King is green in color which echoes with the green “Rolex” letters.. Rolex has done a good job in this watch by finally linking it to the Air King theme – aviation.

What is worth criticizing is that it seems like Rolex has only added something on the Explorer design. The 3,6,9 reminds you of the 216570 Explorer I. Also, the dial seems, to many of us, to be too busy. To me, I hope the watch could be thinner to retain the curves it should have. However, at 5900 CHF, this is a good entry-level Rolex.

The most notable release of Patek Philippe this year is the PP 6300g-001. It is the white gold version of the 150th anniversary Grandmaster Chime but without the engraving on the case. It is also a predictable release as PP devoted a lot of time and effort on developing the Grandmaster Chime. I expect there will be more versions coming next year.

The other notable release is the PP 5930g-001. It is a world-time chronograph which should become a direct competitor with the Girard Perregaux Traveler WW. TC.

Zenith and Breguet have released two military pilot watches which are both very impressive. Zenith has released the Pilot Café Racer. The watch has an aged stainless steel case. It is 45mm wide and comes with an olive green nubuck strap. The numerals are beige in color and it has a grained slate grey dial instead of a black dial. The whole watch feels super military and vintage.

If that is not enough for lovers of military style watches, check out Breguet’s new Type XXI Ref.3817. The watch is the stainless steel version of the platinum one which Breguet released for Only Watch 2015. I will let the picture speaks for itself.
