Denzel Washington Wears a Suunto Core Black Military Watch in the latest movie "Equalizer"

Denzel's Suunto in "Equalizer"

Suunto's Core Black Military Watch

Denzel Washington wears an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore when he is not filming!

Denzel Washington starred in The Equalizer, a latest action thriller film that is not the same as his previous movie, He was like Charles Bronson in the 60’s but he used his Sunnto to precisely plan for his next attack like the scene that he plans to kill 5 Russian mobsters with bare hands in 16 second….but end up ..

Charles Bronson’s Death Wish is a 1974 American vigilante action film loosely based on the novel Death Wish by Brian Garfield. The film was directed by Michael Winner and stars Charles Bronson as a man who becomes a vigilante after his wife is murdered and his daughter is sexually assaulted during a home invasion. It was the first of a franchise. Young Denzel Washington acted as Alley mugger who was shot by Charles Bronson!

Can you see what Suunto model Densel Wear in the movie Eqalizer? That is Core black military!
In 1996, Suunto Oy acquired Recta SA, a Swiss compass manufacturer. Suunto Oy was in turn acquired by Amer Sports Group in 1999, which now owns both companies.
The award-winning Suunto Core made all black perfect for hunting and military/tactical applications.
Suunto Core is an ABC-watch (A=altitude, B=barometer, C=compass). Since its release in 2007 there has been more than 25 different versions of Core.

Suunto Core ALL Black Watch: composite case, black negative display, elastomer strap with black buckle, black rotating aluminum bezel.
•Altimeter with altitude log memory and altitude difference measurement
•Barometer with storm alarm and weather trend indicator
•Automatic Alti / Baro switch
•Compass with semi automatic calibration and a digital bearing
•Depth meter
•Multiple watch, date and alarm functions with dual time and countdown timer
•Sunrise/Sunset times for over 400 locations worldwide
•Digital thermometer
•Menu based user interface in English, German, French and Spanish
•Accessory straps
•User-replaceable battery

Altimeter
The altimeter features a range up to 9000m (29 500 ft). It is ideally suited for all activities where knowing your altitude and ascent and descent rates is essential. The Core altimeter sports an altitude difference measurement that allows you to track your progress in terms of altitude climbed. The log recorder stores all your movements in altitude between the start and stop times, so you can re-live your trip at home - view graphs of changes in altitude during your treks, find out how much you climbed, the duration of ascents and descents, average ascent and descent speed and more.

Barometer
Suunto Core displays the current sea level pressure as a detailed graph, showing recording of the last 24 hours with a recording interval of 30 minutes. The weather trend indicator is a useful feature providing quick reference to check upcoming weather conditions. The storm alarm notifies you of a sudden drop in air pressure, which may be related to worsening weather conditions.

Automatic Alti/Baro switch
Suunto Core sports an Automatic Alti/Baro switch, a smart feature that senses your movement or lack thereof, switching between altimeter and barometer accordingly. When you’re climbing, it records changes in elevation. And when you stop to rest, it records changes in barometric pressure. A drop in air pressure while you’re sleeping under the stars will be recorded for what it really is: a change in barometric pressure, not altitude

Compass
The digital compass displays the cardinal or half-cardinal point and the North. The declination adjustment function allows you to correct the difference between the true North and magnetic North. You can also set it to track a certain bearing, which helps you follow a chosen direction in the terrain.
The compass features a rotating bezel for traditional use (most variants), or a one-touch function that allows you to sight lock and follow a bearing.

Depth meter
Intended for snorkeling, the Suunto Core depth meter provides information on current depth and the maximum depth reached during your snorkeling dive. The maximum depth of the device is 10m (32,8 ft).

Watch
Watch functions include time, dual time, date, alarm, sports chronograph, countdown timer and predicted times for sunrise and sunset for over 400 locations worldwide.

Suunto Core is available in a range of styles and materials.
I used to wear Suunto for Hiking, it is tough and is equipped with all essential Functions for a hiker
Pressure, Temperature, Compass, Altimeter and times. And most of all it is super watch proof!

Suunto was the first to introduce:
1987 profile memory
1989 scrollable menus and PC interface
1993 backlight
1997 watch size dive computer “Suunto Spyder”
1999 reduced gradient bubble model (RGBM)
2011 watch size trimix computer “Suunto D9tx”
2013 watch sized CCR compatible dive computer “Suunto DX”

The electronic circuitry are now manufactured in COB form, what is direct CHIP ON Board using world most economic ASM Aluminum Wire bonder (headquarters in Singapore Yishun No.2 Avenue 7) to bond the wire between the chip to the circuit board.

This COB technology could make the package thinner, lighter and lower in cost.

A Sunnto watch price ranges from US$250 to $380 in average. Another Low cost choice for your next expeditions into the hills and jungles other than your Rolex!

Occupy Central with Peace and Love

Shop at Mongkok Closes at 6 pm on last Friday

If the Hong Kong civil disobedience action or "revolution” enter another delicate phase of protest by further Occupy Central, Causeway bay, MongKok; it is not contributive at all as it may even be dangerous for anyone including those Protesters themselves. Nobody should want to see such Protest would become some kind of major upheaval or tragic end.

Watch and Jewelry shops have been suffering as there are no major clients especially those Chow S S, Chow T F and   many 100 retails shops just in Mongkok and Yau ma Tei area.

Friends working in tour company for China Visitors had already been pay cut 50% this month as they have almost no tours in the Golden Week.

Every shop at Mongkok suffers ten thousands as rent per day without any business and they don’t know when it could be resume normal business activities again!

If such kind of program of Campaign is not being supported by most of the citizens, I doubt what is the chance to be being recognized as “Success”!

I hope that we could end it up by peaceful discussion between student union and HK Government.

Love our home, our city, our people and our country.
Hong Kong is our home!

Roger Dubuis at Watches & Wonders 2014 HK

I had no chance to see the new release of Hommage Repeater on 30 Sep morning as it was not ready to be shown, may be today.
I love Roger Dubuis since I saw them in 2006 at Sogo Department store situated at Four Faced Buddha of Bangkok.
A lot of critics to compare Roger Dubuis with Patek Philippe, well, that is good as at least they put them as one category for comparison!
There was also a lot of people criticized Wing Chun as a feminine kind of martial arts, not until they discovered that is a superb kind of Kung Fu who could convert your foes' energy to your own!
Who knows that one days RG would be the watch trend setter? Remember they have only 20 years history, they are very young and their watches are being classified as one of the best prefered watches for new China Celebrity in Shanghai and Beijing.
There are a lot of things HK should move forward to keep up with these cities, not just economic development, city infrastructure planning, eductation, culture and the way we love our country, besides Choice of watches. This is my personal opinion only, nothing related to RG.
In my hiring interview with the candidates, more than 70% is China visiting-students who got their first and second degrees in HK, my question is where are those HK student which was used to be dominate 100% as the incomig applicants for customer service of sales engineers... now I know, as I see a lot of them in Central!

Tom Ford designer' s bag US$32,500.

I have a cream....! Sorry dream...才對!

Rolex Submariner In Emerald

All Major Rolex Watch Model List Price, and Discount at Rolex Authorized Dealer (AD) Hong Kong Sep 2014

Price Adjustment in the past 4 years
Rolex has adjusted the price 4 times in 2011, and 5 times for Tudor. It has been no price adjustment for Rolex and Tudor since Nov 2011! However 18 Aug 2014 there is a major price adjustment on only some of the hot models

Rolex currently produces around a dozen different Oyster Perpetual models. Rolex also has their dress line, Orchid 50-60 and later Cellini. They are not the major model peoples are looking for.

Ladies Choice
For ladies they make the  26mm Date & Datejust, and 29mm Lady Datejust PearlMaster. In mid-size, you can get the 31mm Datejust or 34mm Oyster Perpetual Date

Men’s choiceLastly there are the gents: 34mm Date & Air-King; 36mm Datejust, Explorer & President; and the 40mm Daytona, Explorer II, GMT-Master-II, 44mm DeepSea, the New 2014 SeaDweller 4000, Submariner, and latest 44mm Stainless Steel Yacht-Master II.
The new one like Explorer II, Sky-Dweller is made of a larger size of 42mm. The Date Just II and Day Date II is not seen to be well accepted by most of the Asian customers, still the 36mm Size is the main stream.

Some models like the gents Datejust currently have about model numbers XXXXXX... The numbers help differentiate the different metals on case and types of bezels used. Dial colors are not included, so that leaves one with dozens of new Datejust choices...

Air-King
The Air-King could be considered the "Basic" model from Rolex. It is 34mm in diameter and comes with an Oyster bracelet by default. The Air-King does not have a Date. In the 1970s, the Air-King was offered with a date and in gold & steel combinations which was rare! Those two variations likely ceased production since they are redundant next to the Date and Oyster Perpetual models.

Current models retail for Air King Ref 114200 $38,500 with the smooth bezel fitted, oyster bracelet.

Ladies Date/Datejust
These two models use the same 26mm case mold and offer the exact same functionality. Rolex discontinued the ladies Date, there was so much overlap in the models that it seemed long overdue.

Lady Oyster Perpetual (No Date)
Ref 176200 Oyster perpetual Lady 26mm stainless steel, No Date, Smooth Stainless steel bezel with Oyster Strap $49,000

Lady Date Just
Ref 179160 Oyster perpetual Lady Date Just, 26mm stainless steel, with Date, smooth bezel with Oyster Strap $45,800

Ref 179160 Oyster perpetual Lady Date Just, 26mm stainless steel, with Date, smooth bezel with Jubilee Strap $46,600

Ref 179174 Oyster perpetual Lady Date Just, 26mm stainless steel, with Date, MOP, White gold Fluted Bezel with Oyster Strap $63,700

Ref 179174 Oyster perpetual Lady Date Just, 26mm stainless steel, with Date, White gold Fluted Bezel, Diamond Dial with Jubilee Strap $67,800

Ref 179174 Oyster perpetual Lady Date Just, 26mm stainless steel, with Date, diamond MOP dial, White gold Fluted Bezel with Jubilee Strap $84,100

Ref 179173 Oyster perpetual Lady Date Just, 26mm Two Tone, with Date, Yellow gold Fluted Bezel with Jubilee Strap $63,700

Ref 178271 Oyster Perpetual Lady Date Just, 31mm Mid Size Two Tone Rose Gold, With Rose gold Fluted Bezel, MOP with Diamond with Jubilee Strap $107,800

Oyster Perpetual
Oyster Date: The Rolex Date is 34mm like the Air-King, but it obviously includes a date function. Its production began in the late 1950s, around the time the steel Datejust was introduced.
Ref 115200 stainless steel, 34mm Smooth stainless steel Bezel date Oyster Strap $47,500
Ref 115234 Stainless steel, 34mm White Gold Fluted Bezel Date Oyster Strap 5 Diamond dial $62,100

Datejust
The Datejust is the best selling Rolex model in the market, 60% of Rolex model is Datejust and has been for decades. It was first introduced in 1945. The gents model is 36mm in diameter and typically came on a Jubilee bracelet. Rolex seems to have changed their tradition on this and is sending more Datejust models out the door with the Oyster band. Models with smooth bezels are available, but less common. Most have the fluted bezel, which is 18k white gold on the steel model. Most of the Chinese big spenders buy Two Tone Rolex Date Just 36mm with Diamond Dial as the most frequent buy.

The Datejust was only available in gold until 1957 (conveniently a year after the release of the Day-Date which still has never seen a steel model). The steel Datejust was introduced and became an instant success. Rolex soon saw the steel variations selling much quicker than their gold models. Rolex countered this in 1962 when they introduced the gold and steel version…
Ref 116200 Date Just stainless steel watch, 36mm, Smooth Stainless steel smooth Bezel with Oyster Strap $49,000

Ref 116234 Date Just stainless steel watch, 36mm, White Gold Fluted Bezel with Oyster Strap $58,800

Ref 116234 Date Just stainless steel watch, 36mm, White Gold Fluted Bezel Smooth with Diamond Dial with Jubilee Strap $72,700

Milgauss
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss was introduced in 1956 with model number 6451. The Milgauss was designed as an antimagnetic watch specifically for those who worked in power plants, medical facilities and research labs where electromagnetic fields can cause havoc with the timing of a watch. The current model Milgauss is equipped with a magnetic alloy (Parachrom-Blu) hairspring and movement encased by a Faraday cage. The name Milgauss is derived from the Latin mille, which means one-thousand, and gauss, the unit of a magnetic field. l is so named because it can withstand a magnetic flux density of 1,000 gauss.

In 2007, Rolex brought the Milgauss back after nearly two decades as the model number Ref 116400. There are currently three versions: white dial or black dial with a standard colorless sapphire crystal, and the GV (Glace Verte) or "Anniversary" model, with black dial of a slightly different design and a green-tinted sapphire crystal. The GV is the only Rolex produced with a tinted crystal. Although initially rumored to be a limited edition, the GV version is still produced nearly 3 years later after 2010.

Due to its internal Faraday cage, the Milgauss is thicker than the Submariner, but the same width and weighs 157 grams. The Milgauss is only available in 904L polished stainless steel, an alloy that is extremely resistant to scratches and corrosion. Aside from its resistance to magnetic fields, the Milgauss' most unusual feature is its orange lightning-bolt second hand, a unique feature in the Rolex lineup that was originally introduced with the 6541 Milgauss model.

Ref 116400 Milgauss White Dial or Black dial $55,500 was Increased to $57,500 (Aug 2014)

Ref 116400 GV Milgauss Green Glass grey black dial $59,600 was increased to $61,600 (Aug 2014)
Ref 116400 GV Milgauss Green Glass Blue dial $61,600 (new introduction end Aug 2014)

Explorer I
It was introduced in 1954, and has had one look through-out its life; a black dial with Arabic numbers at 3', 6' and 9', no date, smooth bezel, Oyster bracelet, and a stainless steel 36mm case. Except for the updates that all Rolex watches have received, it remained essentially the same watch.
Explorer I Ref 214270   39mm stainless steel with Oyster Strap $48,200

Explorer II
This model was introduced in the early 70's and was never widely distributed or popular until 1991. The original model was produced until the current model was released in 1985. The Explorer II uses the same movement as the GMT-II models and makes use of a secondary 24-hour hand that rotates once every day. The engraved steel bezel is stationary and was originally designed for speleologists (cave explorers) who can have a hard time determining if it is am or pm.

Explorer II Ref 216570 was launched in Nov 2011, new caliber of high accuracy, 42mm stainless steel, it come with Black with Orange Floating Pointing $60,500, White Dial same price.

Submariner
The Submariner was introduced by Rolex in 1954. The watch comes only on an Oyster bracelet and has a 40mm case. The steel model is only available with a black dial, and is one of the most recognizable Rolexes. Anniversary editions with green bezels can occasionally be found.

The Submariner has the common single direction rotating diving bezel with minute markers for the first 15 minutes. The original models until 1958 are often considered "James Bond" models and have some easily recognizable difference. Primarily, they had a smaller crown, no crown guard, and the bezel only had minute markers every 5 minutes. In the late 70s the model 16800 was introduced. It sported the new sapphire crystal and quick-set function. In 1989, the 16610 was introduced with an improved movement and a more secure bezel, that is the most advanced and yet beautiful Submariner so far claimed by most of Submariner Collectors.

In 2010, the 116610 was introduced with a ceramic (Cerachrom) bezel and improved “Glidelock” buckle.

Ref 114060 Submariner Black dial, no Date 40mm, stainless steel watch with matching Oyster Strap $58,000

DeepSea
Sea Dweller: The Sea Dweller was introduced in 1971 and discontinued in 2008. It is virtually the same watch as the Submariner. The only real differences are the thicker and heavier steel case, thicker crystal with no cyclops eye, and the helium escape valve useful only to deep divers. The original model was rated for 2000 feet and called the "Rolex Submariner 2000 Sea Dweller". It lost the "Submariner 2000" part of the title in 1973. The previous issue, model 16600, is rated to 4000 feet and is sold only in steel. The DEEPSEA model offers a greater depth rating (to 12,800 feet) along with a thicker, larger case and an improved "Glidelock" buckle.
The DEEPSEA, model 116660, retail was for HKD$82,500, increased to $88,000 in Aug 2014.

SeaDweller 4000 2014
Rolex release the new 2014 SeaDweller 4000 under model No. Ref 116600 list price $78,800 in Aug 2014.

GMT-Master II
The 1950s were an exciting decade for Rolex and included the introduction of the classic GMT- Master. It was one of the first watches to utilize a second hour hand to indicate a second time zone. With the simple rotating 24 hour bezel, one could fairly easily tell the time in any time zone. The late 70s saw the introduction of the GMT-Master II which was basically the same, except now the user could easily adjust the 2nd hour hand with the crown in position 2. The steel models are only offered with black dials. The bezels are available in all black, red/ black, or red / blue. GMT's typically come with a Jubilee bracelet installed.

The original GMT-Master (16700) was phased out in the late 90s. The latest serial number Bernard's had for the 16700 was a U#, putting its birthday around 1997. With the flood of new models with a second time zone function from other manufactures, retiring it was a smart move, as most consumers will want to adjust the 2nd hour hand.

The GMT-Master II (16710) was discontinued in 2008 and replaced with the GMT-Master II (116710) The primary difference besides the 3186 caliber movement with Parachrom Bleu hairspring is the ceramic (Cerachrom) bezel. Some late production 16710s have been discovered with the 3186 movement.

The GMT-Master II with green hand Ref 116710LN retails for $61,200 in steel. This model was launched in Nov 2011.  Price was Increased in Aug 2014 to $63,200

Ref 116713LN GMT-master II Two tone, stainless steel and Yellow gold, $91,500

Ref 116718LN GMT-master II Solid Yellow gold with Black Bezel and Green Dial $228,500

Latest released GMT-master II Black and Blue Ceramic Bezel Ref 116710 BLNR launched into HK Market in June 2013 at $65,300 with no discount.
This 2013 Hot model Black Blue Bezel continues to be supplied under control to not more than one watch one month to each shop; Ref 116710BLNR list price $67,300
New 2014 GMT Master II in white Gold Ref 116719 soon arriving HK., list price should be $297,900
This is Rolex’s first time using Red Cerachrom technology to create the beautiful ruby like red on GMT Master II, I believe there will be stainless steel model on this Pepsi Colour on GMT Master II.

Yacht-Master II
In 2007, Rolex‘s launched the revolutionary regatta chronograph. It is now available in 904L steel for the first time, fitted with a Cerachrom bezel insert in blue ceramic. On the inside of the huge 44mm Oyster case, the Yacht-Master II features an exclusive function developed by Rolex – a countdown mechanism which can be programmed from 1 to 10 minutes and incorporates a mechanical memory, allowing it to be reset to the same countdown duration. Once launched, it can also be synchronized on the fly, enabling it to be adjusted to match the official regatta countdown. The Yacht-Master II is equipped with calibre 4161, a self-winding mechanical regatta chronograph movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex.

Ref 116680 stainless Steel 44mm, with a solid platinum bezel and was just released in June 2013. $145,300.

Daytona Cosmograph
The story of the Rolex Cosmograph could be called the most chaotic of all the Rolex Oyster models. Rolex is keen on creating a winning product. The watch never really got off the ground until 1986 when the market for them exploded and the watches would often sell for double the retail price in Italy. The "Paul Newman" models manufactured around 1967 were and still are the most desirable of the Daytona models fetching prices over HKD$400,000. It was sold at about $29,000 in 1989.
In 2000 came the newly developed Rolex caliber 4130 with a 72 hour power reserve replaced the Valjoux workhorse movement with the Zenith El Premiro movement. During the 1990s, the Daytona was the only Rolex model not using a Rolex movement

The stainless steel Daytona Ref116520 retails at $87,500 was increased to $90,000.
By Right the price of Black and white should be same , however due to the marketing plot of Rolex to supply less on black, the marketing price of Rolex Black is higher than the white at Rolex AD  if they have stock.
Practical price offer from Rolex AD for Black is $98,000 and White $90,000

Steel and Gold models retail for $113,000 and all 18K yellow gold for $265,000. Steel Daytona's have consistently sold for more than retail since the 1980s. The two-tone and gold models do not sell for over retail, unlike their steel counterparts.

Day Date
Day Date (DD) The FlagShip of Rolex, I have been talking a lot about this model and I think many more people started crushed on this model, and a lot of HK Rolex collectors are looking for Colourful Vintage Day Date, especially Model Ref 1803 and Ref 18038, which has been introduced to the world as a Classic. As of this moment in time, their price is still low. However as for new watch, so far, there is never a single request on purchase nor price of Day Date, as Firstly I think they are not cheap, and second, those who can buy would not care too much if that is less 5%, less 10% or less 14%.
