At first Rolex seemed unsure of the watch’s potential and so two distinct variations of the Explorer model were created that targeted two different markets. The first was known as the “Air King Explorer” and the second variation was known as the “Dress Explorer.” The dress Explorer is a standard Oyster Perpetual in either steel, gold with white or black dials with gold markers and hands.
In 1959 Rolex released the model 6610, which is generally the look sported by the Explorer today. Inside, however, there have been numerous changes with the movements as technologies advanced. In addition, the Explorer was among the first to use Rolex’s new Oyster bracelet, which had links machined from solid steel rather than the folded steel used in older bracelets.
In the early 1970s, Rolex designed the Explorer II, which was released as model 1655. It uses the same caliber movement found in the GMT-Master, but with a fixed bezel. It also featured a fourth hand that rotated every 24 hours. Rolex marketed this new Explorer as being beneficial to speleologists or cave explorers.
Rolex has always marketed their Explorer watches as being extremely rugged and resistant to big changes of pressure and temperature and in rough weather and humid conditions. While some adventurers and extreme sportsmen actually prefer watches like the Casio G-Shock for their rugged designs, the Explorer’s popularity remains strong with both the real explorers and those who just dream of being one.

Cyma World Time Big Date Auto Watch
I recall that my first Cyma watch was a Moonphase Gold plated Auto with transparent base. It was about HKD$3,500.00 in 1988. That was quite a honest watch that did not steal my time away. I Don't know if I still can see that watch again as I sold to someone for another Watch.
This is a 2007 release Auto World Time from Cyma. Stainless Steel material and see through base for the auto Calibre. Friend of mine is using it, I met Him in HKIA yesterdsay and he showed me. Frequent traveller's favourite.

Serious Rolex Collector
This is probably one of the dissenting collectors for Rolex. He has roughly 60 Rolex Sea Dweller in that glass globe. All are in running mode. So What kind of mindset a Rolex Collector should be!?? Collect One model with all his financial might for Quantity!? Collect Different type or versatile version of one model!? Collect one series of the same model in different time of release!? Collect all sorts of Colour of dial!? Collect Lucky number of the Serial Number!?
My favourie is to Collect all major version of Day date! As there are numerous number of Rolex being released every year, As Rolex is probably the largest number of Chronometer Watch production in Switzerland. I think all collectors have the mindset to collect as many as he can, But as for myself, I prefer to collect as best as I can for one Model. Well, if there is too many watches, it is a magnificent way to display and people will definitely say “WOOOW… A lot of Rolex!” But if they are more or less the same… That may be better to collect something which is rare…
Anyway, I like those Rolexes on the Glass Globe!
As We have thumb of rule for Collections; Accurate, Rarity, technical evolutional. Design beauty. Most of all…my personal idea only!

Cartier Panthère Ring
Introduced in 1914, the motif, was inspired by Louis Cartier’s fellow jeweler Jeanne Toussaint, who was nicknamed the Panther. Style icons as Chloë Sevigny and Rachel Zoe claimed this to be her favorite piece. Since then most probably, this Panther would have appeared in many forms as Brooch, Ring, pedant, Fountain Pens, Cuff Links...etc
This is a baby Panther I saw in HKIA departure hall a few days ago at Cartier Boutique.

Younger look of Rolex Day Date Purple-Blue Dial with Diamond
After I custom ordered a Purple-Blue Croco strap, this Rolex Day Date does not look so mature and sophisticated as it used to be, in fact this Rolex can be worne by man of age below 35 and Woman of age 25. Believe me, three out of 4 men and 4 out of four women has the same criticism as mine! HK Snob

Vintage Patek Philippe 38mm chronograph with moonphase
Of course from "Plating" of the gold, we know that this is not authentic Patek Pilippe Watch. As genuine Patek Philippe does not have "Gold Plated Watch"!
We do not encourge to buy this kind of watch, but in fact the quality of the Calibre is good at least lasting for 20 years.
However the time keeping is bad and the plating is gone, looks awful, there is nothing Patek at all
