Charles Elwood "Chuck" Yeager born February 13, 1923 is a retired brigadier general in the United States Air Force and record-setting test pilot. In 1947, he became the first pilot confirmed to have exceeded the speed of sound in level flight.

Yeager's career began in World War II as a private in the United States Army Air Forces. After serving as an aircraft mechanic, in September 1942 he entered enlisted pilot training and upon graduation was promoted to the rank of flight officer (the World War II USAAF equivalent to warrant officer) and became a P-51 fighter pilot.

After the war, Yeager became a test pilot of many types of aircraft, including experimental rocket-powered aircraft. As the first human to break the sound barrier, on October 14, 1947, he flew the experimental Bell X-1 at Mach 1 at an altitude of 45,000 ft (13,700 m). Although Scott Crossfield was the first to fly faster than Mach 2 in 1953, Yeager shortly thereafter set a new record of Mach 2.44.

Yeager later commanded fighter squadrons and wings in Germany, and in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, and in recognition of the outstanding performance ratings of those units he was promoted to brigadier general. Yeager's flying career spans more than 60 years and has taken him to every corner of the globe, including the Soviet Union during the height of the Cold War.

World's Thinnest Rolex ever made...

I am sure this gentleman is a fan of Rolex, they are beautifully crafted on his wrist...

Draw back: he cannot read the time, he cannot change it everyday. But it would not be found elsewhere and it is priceless...

The Most Preferrfed Watch I have seen in the past 30 years

I have 6 Passports in the past 30 years.

In the 70s , Africa most popular imported watch is Seiko 5, all sailors are smuggling this watch from HK into Africa. The profit is 300%.  No one will buy Rolex as that was not their  cup of tea!

In Shanghai, they used to have no Watch in the 60s , gradually,  Shanghai, JiLin became their favorite watch, though  a Chinese Made watch was RMB 200, that was about five month salary in that time.

And in 80’s they started to go for Longines, Omega, Tissot, Rado and till 90s more people go for Rolex and Vacharon Constantin…

In Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, most of the rich Chinese people worn Rolex in Yellow Gold.

In Japan, they like Rolex, the Yakuza worn gold Rolex, same as those HK and Taiwan mafia…

As for myself, I used only Rolex for his implacable solid oyster case and its accuracy…

I have been working on Merchant Vessel, all the captains, First officer, Chief Engineer, Chief Steward, sailor, Oiler, Carpenter are all using Rolex, they seem know only Date Just, either smooth bezel, or Fluted Bezel. I have seen a few two tone Date Just, but not even one Day Date, may be it was really very expensive at that time…I have asked them why Rolex, they simply said, Why not Rolex!? They said Rolex is the best.

I have been to North Korea and they are proud of using Chinese made Watch….as it sees that is the watches they have back in 80’s.

You can more or less tell about the person by his watch…

I have been traveled over 20 counties and 60 different cities, in the past 30 years. The most preferred Watch seem to be Rolex, still…

St. John's Cathedral

St. John's Cathedral

There is a need for HKD$89,000 one day to maintain this Church.

This tree is one of the witness of the Old Church

Bank of China taken at the St. John's Cathedral

Another Two Major Banks in HK

a beautiful glass picture at Standard Chartered bank along the Battery Path

No matter how much you love the hustle and bustle of the dynamic city, sometimes it can wear you down. I had a chance dropped by the Church after being tortured two rounds on the same morning by the nearby US Consulate.

I had placed myself at corner at this oldest Church in Hong Kong. It seems that we have ear-lids to block out the noise the way we have eyelids to give our eyes a rest.

It is quiet, peaceful, and makes me Calm… what a nice shelter for my heart.
