Hi HK Snob!

Firstly, Happy Belated mid-autumn Festival!

Thanks for the great advice earlier. I'll definitely wait out until the volume arrives in full at later months. I sure am not some special person who naturally goes into the AD preferred list. Just a starting amateur watch lover.. Hehe... Besides I'll want to see it n try on the size before buying.

For my height of about 5"6, 40mm is good size for ladies, but for 42mm, am not so sure. Heehee.

New Explorer II Orange is selling in Dubai Rolex AD @AED31,000 = HKD66,650

HK Snob said...

Hi Friend, Thanks for the info, HKD$66,650 for a Explorer II New Organe in Dubai AD... That maight be the line for price tage in HK similarly... If that has been launched in Dubai, quite soon will be in HK.... We are waiting for that!

Thanks for the message!

HK Snob

HK Snob said...

Hi Mieow, Wow, a 5'6" lady should be pretty tall using me as a reference as I am just 4' 15" tall!
And I beleive that 42mm watch does not seems too big at all. Well, all depends on how you feel it is ... Go try once beofe you buy. No need to be hurry. Friend sent me message that Dubai AD has this watch already on Sales... That is an amoutn fo HKD$66,650.00 that shoudl be normal price of a Submariner or GMT master II. Heard that Swiss France had been pegged with Euro and that has dropped over 13% in one day last week, so the chance for an increase of price in HK is low now... Good that we can enjoy the old price of Rolex especially this model...
I wish that you could get one asap. Of when I get mine, I pass it to you if you like...

I spent a good part of my Sunday morning reading in more details on your blog. Impressive n loads of interactive exchanges!! Really enjoying it.

Maybe I will get a pre-owned 116610LV or LN first while waiting for oprange explorer II launch. I travel frequently for work and will like a durable watch yet need not pay too much. What's a good price to pay for pre-owned LV or LN SS in HK? U mentioned about Kuen Kee n Luen Shing a lot. Will they have these ?

Thanks!

Hi Alison Chong,
Are you HK or Singaporean!? Guess you are HK.
Well, This is the greatest Classic of Rolex in an enlarged version. The movement is same as the older version, Rolex has to follow the European trend for going BIG!
In the 80's We call this the "Stainless King". The bezel is made of white gold. This is no gadget but the truth of the Rolex Value. Imagine who will be so silly to put a Gold Bezel on a Stainless steel watch....
Rolex Does...and he is not silly, may be this one of the reasons why they were so HOT in the 70' 80' and even now.
The price is HKD$80,800.00, you can get a discount of 5% when you buy from CTF...If you can not get this price... call me!
Oh man... The same watch I bought in 1981 was jsut HKD$5,025.00!
But My comment is! an extravagent watch for such a Price... Why not consider a 18KT gold watch from Rolex?... or a SS Daytona if you do not have it yet...
The value may be even Better!

Hi HK Snob,

I m planning to check out pre-owned 116610LV or LN this weekend. As I m quite an amateur, will appreciate tips n things to lookout on buying pre-owned. Also what is the good price for pre-owned? The prices seems to range bigger than expected.
I am also thinking which model has better retaining value since ultimately I would also want to start keeping good rolex pieces.

Looking forward to your replies soon.

Thanks!

HK Snob said...

Hi Mieow,
There are a lot of Tricks and fraud on sellng Rolexes as Rolex is so popular IN HK.
So It depends on Experience and the knowledge on the watch. Also tricky people may look at the buyer, say if the buyers is inexperienced people and they may tend to give or recommend them " Less Good Quality Stuff" to them. This is the General practice for people who do business. That is why, ALWAYS go to some trustful stores for the Rolex.
You can see I have always mentioned those shop as I know them running more than 30 years in HK.
2nd things is : No Cheap Rolex
If the price is too low, I will not buy. You know what i mean.

2nd , I will check for the usage,., means that how Rough the watch has been used...

3rd, I will check the wstch has been polished or not.... You know Rolex can be looks like NEW if that has been polished...Even Rolex Service Cnetre can offer Officical Polish service to reviionate you watch to New!!

4th, I Will ask if I can Open and see the movement, well, That is tough for you and even for me in some of the shops.

So I used to buy from Dealers....who can open the watch and show me... and Mostof all Dealer is cheaper.

As I have advised you at Yahoo.

Take more time to find, Really the range of Rolex of same model can have a big varaince of Price... Due to the condition of the watch!

HK snob

HK Snob said...

Hi Matt,

Actually, you can go to the Authorized Dealer of Rolex in HK, I have listed there in my blog. you can go this to find the authoized dealer
http://watch-fever.blogspot.com/2011/04/rolex-price-adjustment-again-on-18.html

The price is actually same for all AD, the difference is that some of the Shop selling Watches only and they can have some equipmnt to check and tell how accurate oyur Rolex is... this is an offer of service. SO you can select a Rolex with the best Accuracy, normally some people can find a rolex of gain 2 seconds a day. that is a superb watch.

If you go to some AD which sells watch and jewellery. they will not offer the same service. But if you know them, that will be another case.
Anyway, Buy Rolex in these AD has basically no Risk , that is why they are the Authorized Dealers...
Happy Shopping in HK!

Anyone know where in HKG can get much better?

Hi,
Just last week, I ask 116400GV in Oriental & Emperor, it is HKD 59,600 less 5%. Now, do you mean that they do not offer any discount?

If price is like that, better to get the new Ex II.

Thks,

HK Snob said...

Hi
116400GV is selling at HKD$59,600 less 5% at Oriental and Emporer. Well, All depends on the Stock level, the Timing, and Who they are going to sell to. Some times you can get less 4 or even 5%. I can not say no discount at the shops I said. Price offer is subject to the salesman who may wan to sell or not.
If they have no more, they might not offer higher discount so that they can keep the hot items for good VIP Customer.

Great work here, Mr HK Snob. I am going to a few places in December for holiday and also shop for a Rolex Sub 14060M as my first Rolex. I read from your previous reply that it is about $HK48,000 brand new at CTF. Is that with any discounts? Is it usual to get 5% on the 14060M? I will be in Singapore, Macau, HK, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Bangkok in Dec. Is HK the best place to buy a brand new Sub 14060M? Thank you for helping.
Regards, Keat

HK Snob said...

Hi Keat, If you ask me where amongst the places Macau, Singapore, HK, KL and Penang to buy Rolex. My reply is Either Singapore or HK.
Singapore sometimes has an earlier launch of Rolex new Model, such as Rolex New Explorer II Yellow has been Launched in shop like Hour Glass in Singapore. However as for price, HK may still be cheaper as HKD is pegged will USD, so Singaporean will enjoy a better price buying Rolex in HK, HK does not have VAT. If you are looking for variety of Rolex, HK is better,as you can get almost every model of Rolex in HK, Rolex Exports 45% of their watch to HK. So that is the Largest Business Partners for Rolex.,
Price of That Pieces of 14060M is still good, and That is one of the favouite sportman watch. However there may be no way to find the one with SCOC words as they produced once in 2008 once. Friend of mine sold me a 14060M with SCOC in May at HKD$35500. but I did not take it. and I am feeloiing regret now. nevertheeless, I bought another Rolex..
If you come to HK, go and search for that...
That is a Price of good Rolex!

There is no price different in all Rolex AD for the list price. As for the normal Watch like the one you are asking for, the price and even discount shoudl be same. The discount is about 4-5% on Rolex. If that is a rare model like the Submariner 116610LV, they may have less discount or soemtimes no discount at all.

Can you tell me the current price for the Datejust SS in mens and junior size? Do AD offer special discount if buying 2 watches?

Hoping to hear from you soon.

Hi Adrian,
Stainless Steel men watch say no diamond with fluted White Gold bezel Ref 116200 is HKD$%49,000.
Ref 115200 is men with smooth bezel HKD$47,500. You can get 5% discount from all Rolex AD.
Normally you buy one or two may have no more discount, but I can ask for 1-2%. For Woman one I have no idea how much.
Usually Say black and White dial has no differnce in price, but regular and Computer One will have different price, of course the Computer one may be higer a bit.

Enjoy your time in HK..

Hi HK Snob,

Thanks for the very fast reply. Is the price you quoted me the jubilee bracelet? Im guessing also that the womens or mid size datejust would be a bit cheaper than the 36mm mens size? Could you also tell me what the difference is between the 116200 and 116234? One more question, do the Rolex AD accept payment in US$ or only in HK$

Thanks again

HK Snob said...

Hi Adrian, Try the Oriental Watch Company at Yau Mai Tei MTR exit (555 nathan Road) or the CSS Mongkok Nathand Road 628.

Rolex 116200 is having a polished smooth Bezel, where 116234 has a white Gold Fluted Bezel, they are carry Jubilee braclet or Oyster Strap all depends on your taste.

HK Snob

HK Snob said...

Hi Adrian, Well, AD of Rolex accept US$, HK$ but if you exercise US$ they may use a lower Exrate Rate. you can use your credit card.
I suggest to buy men's size 36mm instead of boy's size for men. The trend is going large, 36mm men's watch is good enough for lady nowadays. Boy is just right for Woman, Lady size is too small.

I am check with another friend who know Chow Tak Fook other brachs, I will call him later today to see where we have.
If really that you stay HK for couple of days and can not get from the Official AD, you may consider to go to Tsim Sha Tsui for those Brand New Shop for that watch. That may be a bit expensive. Wait for while if that is not too urgent for you.
Keep you posted on.

Hi HK Snob,

I'm going to Hong kong next week Nov 3. can I ask the current brand new price of 116610lv, 216570, 116523 and 116244? I think I won't be able to wait for the New explorer II so the 40 mm one price will do. I/m planning to buy two of the same kind, one for my father and me, would they give me bigger discounts? will they accept us dollars? thanks so much

Hi HK Snob,

Just want to ask another question. How much is the datejust 36mm jubilee bracelet with fluted bezel but with dial diamond at the AD?

Is this the 116234?

Thanks

HK Snob said...

Hi Adrian

116234 is HKD$72700 less 5 becomes HKD$69065 at one of the Rolex AD.

Luckily you got the watch from Oriental. Mind telling me which branch of Oriental!?

Hello!

Great blog and definitely very useful! I have one day stopover in HK and am contemplating of shopping for a used ladies Rolex watch (I'm a total beginner in Rolex watches). Which is a better place to go to - Kuen Kee, Ken Watches or Lung Shing?

CK

HK Snob said...

Hi CK,
I prefer Kuen Kee as that area is having cheaper Rent, and I suspect the boss owns the shop. Meaning their cost or running the shop is much lower than those in Mongkok or even Tsim Sha Tsui. So I can see that their price is lower about 5% with respect with those shops outside witrh same watch brand and models. And they have been running more 30 years, they have good reputation.
That is important so often we see a lot of Thailand, Philippine Whole seller buy from them.
My personal choice only

breamo said...

Hi HK Snob, I purchased that at the emperor 20 queens road central. Service pretty good and they put it in the machine and it is showing zero to plus one second. I asked them to check my TAG which I know is about plus 8 seconds. Spot on. Thanks again and good luck with your business.

Hi HK Snob,

Thanks for your quick response. As I'm not really good at bargaining, can you advise, as a general guide, how much more discount from their price tags I can looking at negotiating from these used watch dealers?

Adrian said...

Hi HK Snob,

Iam in HK now and recently visited Oriental in Nathan Road. They are selling the Datejust 36mm Jubilee Bracelet and White Gold Fluted Bezel for 58,800 less 5% and the 30mm for 55,500. I asked for extra 2% discount but they said cannot do. All they can do is give me extra gift if i buy 2 watches. Is this good enough?

Please help.

Thanks

HK Snob said...

Hi Adrian,
5% max is the discount they offer even you buy two, well, give you some give-away items is some kind of Comfort treatment for you! I think that is what they can do most in HK.
HK Snob

HK Snob said...

Hi CK
hard to answer this question, all depends on the watch types brands and model, if something like Submariner green bezel, no price negotiation at all. and Submariner Black should come with less 5-8% as they also play trick to maker up a bit to make their customer feeling Buying Cheaper stuff at the end of the deal! Sales tricks!
As there is usually codes written under the price tag labeled the minimum price and recommended sales price on it.
Some may have higher discount like Omega, Longines. But for Rolex and PP, price is usually Hard for more discount. But, if I were you, I will start working for 12% first and slowing talking, negotiating with them! Don't worry, if they can not offer further discount, they will say no. Even Luen Shing is almost Fixed price, I had purchased a AP RO before I get extra 7% doscount.
You can say you are not HK people and Pretend you do not know the rule. Open and talk to them. They will not mind, in most of the case, as yoiu know this isn't not an ice cream. We should negotiate!
HK Snob

HK Snob said...

Hi Breamo,
yes Oriental watch's sellign point is Services, they have watchsmith, they have teh equipment to check you Rolex. and You can select the best Accuracy Rolex through the equipment. That is one of the major differnece between Watch Company and goldsmith....
Good that you got your watch!!

I want to buy a GMT in SS (116710LN). After finding this blog I plan to change my travel schedule from Europe to Shanghai next weekend and go via HKG where the prices for Rolex seem to be lowest. Would an AD have a GMT SS in stock. What's the current list price and what would be a realistic discount? Which AD would be best for a layover of say 5 hours? Uli from Germany

Uli said...

Forgot to ask in previous comment: I don't want to carry too much cash and don't want to lose money in currency exchange for cash. Are discounts still possible when paying with a credit card?

Uli said...

I'm confused! Your price list for HKG says HKD for GMT 116710 LN and in the blog you mention 61.2k HKD. What's the current list price?
Greetings from Germany

HK Snob said...

Hi Uli,
yes, GMT master II green hand is HKD$62,210 as list price, normally there is a discount for Rolex model but this is hot item, you may get less 4% roughly. You can use your VISA or MC as no one will carry that kind of money to travel.
I think ou may stay in like Oriental Watch company, Dickson, Zurich, but 5 hours? I do not think that is necessary as they may not have time for you that long.
Note that This is hot item and I can check for you if there is stock in my known AD or not first, as Last week two of Rolex lovers asked for it. I can locate one only and I could hold it for two days only and that Italian did not take it and I let go to others.
Note that Those Rolex Sport item Explorer II orange, GMT master II and Submariner are extremelt hot and only If I can find one, maximum I can hold it for one day or two. Do not exppect that there is stock available, Esp. the Explorer II organge and Submariner Green Bezel black even; Many people is on teh waiting list.
I hope I can clarify your queries beofre you come to shop in HK.

I am not sure is this the right place to post.
But I have couple of questions that need your expertise advise as follow:
1. How long does RSC 14F service a sub?
2. What is the cost of servicing?
3. If I would get any pre-own Rolex from Kuen Kee or LuenShing, should I be worrying the servicing of the watch?
4 lastly how long does you recommend to have the watch service if run on winders when is not worn.

Your advise is appreciated.

HK Snob said...

Hi Harry,
As far as I know RSC normally it takes 2-3 weeks to service a Submariner, of course provide they do not have the part issues, normally it does not as Rolex has abundant part support.
Rolex Does not care where you get the Rolex from Luen Shing, Kuen Key, Chow Tak Fook or Oriental Watch, they service so long the watch is real Rolex, with or without the Waranty card. That is the case for HK RSC, as in Malaysia, They will not service the Rolex if it is using Fake Crystal, fake Strap pin, or fake Crown. they will ask you to change to genuine parts before they service it as to gnrantee the water tightness. Where as in HK, they still service if the strap pin is not orginal, the Crystal is not original, but on the repair slip it states that no waranty on the water proof function.
How long you should take the Rolex to service a Rolex is hard to predict. I have a Rolex Watch that I bought some 25 years ago, it still runs perfectly. I have friend who has bought a Rolex for two years, the hands moves abnormally in one day, so he has to send to RSC for repair.
I have seen men who bought a New Rolex , after one year, it stopped and has to send to RSC for cleaning and oiling.
But Normally that is not common.
If you has a watch winder that keeps the Rolex in active running state, I beleive it has to send to Rolex RSC for service after 5 years.
Normally the price for servicing A Rolex Submariner takes about HKD$900 for Cleaning and Oiling, in case for Case Polishing, add anotehr HKD$300. This is the rough price. I do not prefer the Rolex to be installed in the Watch Winder if you do not use it, as it will shorter the smoothness of the Libricating. I would like to run it one time in Three month by either wearing it or help to swing it for winding up.

In Panda, you can go to Tsuen Wan Chung On Street that have Chow Tai Fook, Chow Sang Sang, and King Fook, try your luck if there is stock at that time. 116110LN should be easier than those green Bezel Green Dial.

Daniel Lee,
Your selection is the Rolex Best Selling Models; 1. DateJust, 2. Submariner 3. GMT Master II...of course it is a bit tough to tell why Submariner is preferred., just beacsue of the previous image by James Bond, Professionals Divers, sucessfully business men, I have observed that every Business Class CX cabin has at least two Submariners, it is too sucessfully! so it would be standout sharp if your one is Green Bezel! if I use submariner, I can ignore what kind of clothes I wear , no matter causual, white shirt with tie, or even monkey suits! it fits perfectly. but I wear a DateJust or Date Day, I think it would be a bit clumsy to wear it on Week ends. But of course a stainless steel black dial Datejust is another perfect choice when you use it on week ends. Since I think the black dial has certain image of Sportmen. But you just can not have one Rolex, so you may consider buy the DJ first, then try to get a special colour of Submariner...
you know the Most beautiful Submariner is the Blue Dial White gold... It is the perfect Watch forever... Well, That costs HKD$265,000.00! WOW!
Ref 116234 $72700 diamond
Ref 116234 $58800 no diamond
5%, tell me if you are interested, I introduce you to my friend who wroks in the AD.

Is it still HK$62,100.00 or did it change?

What's the cost/price, discount rate & and price after discount for brand new:

HK Snob said...

Hi Toi,
116610LN is HKD$66,100.00 less 5% if goods is available.

116610LV green Dial Green Bezel is floating price between HKD%66,100 to HKD$69,000.00 as we can not find goods at all in HK. A Singspore freind has located one for me from Hour Glass in Singagore at SGD$11,000.00 I am still waiting for it.
As for The Sub black dial, you have to find from those HK Rolex ADs as some of the shop may have, but as far as I know some of the biggest AD do not have stock. They might have 1-2 peices in the whole shop chain which is reserved for their customers in queue. You can walk in and leave your contact and order , normally we can wait for a few weeks, then they will notify you your goods. Since Eu and US economy is not too good, I expect this hot item shortage siuation will become better in coming Dec Jan time frame. As for the Sub without date I will check and advise you later.

Hi HK Snob!

I was last month in Hong Kong and I couldnt find a nice store with a nice price for a Rolex Submariner 116610LN or 14060M (Whats the difference between the two?)

Can you advice a good store/city and what the price is?

HK Snob said...

Hi
Ref 216570 has been selling in HK for almost a month,
Firs offer was $68000, then came down to $65000 in one week. But problem is small volume supply, and only white is available. Black is supplied in small volume.
I have order one but still no news.
However. There is a few white available at Rolex shop at Singapore Chang Yi Airport price is net SGD$12000.
If you want call them...if you are HK people, leave your name and contact to your Rolex shop for reservation.

HK Snob said...

Hi
116610LN is submariner with Date, 14060M is submariner without date. This is major difference.
Now there is stock for the one piece monday on 14060m at HKD$49,000 in one of major Rolex AD, and this one has "scoc" words on the dial! send me e-mail if you to hold that for you and I will tell you who where to get it.
Note I am not too sure if they have it right now. Only if stock lasts.

HK snob!

Thank you for the very fast reply! Then I will go for the Submariner 116610LN. Do you know the price of this one?

I am not in HK right now, but I will be back in a few months so!

When I went home I saw at the Airport the Submariner 116610LN for 5150 euros! WHat do you think about the price?

HK Snob said...

Hi
Euro 5150 is a good price!
In HK the price is HKD$62,100 you may get a discount of 4%, so after that the final price is HKD$59,616.
Also in HK, there is no stock at all.
I have at least one to two chaps asking for this likely the hottest model from Rolex.

HK Snob said...

Hi Justin,
One of my friend helped me to get one already in Singapore., But I have to re-confirm again, this is my first Submariner Green for this year. I need to get more and I visited this new opened Shop Wing Kong Watch & Jewellery at G/F, G15-21, Sino Centre, 582-592 Nathan Road Mong Kong, Tel : 22198888
That they had 3 Pieces at HKD$71,000.00 brand new, but they need to put deposite and then give you the watch. If you want to wear this watch before Christmas, you may have to go and talk to them.
Website www.wingkongwatch.com

They have run the watch business since 1978 but they are not the Rolex AD. They sell used and new watches. You can Talk to Mr. Lin Kim Shing(sales executive)

As if you want to get from Rolex AD, Price is HKD$66,100.00 less 4%
But the chance is really very low!

HK Snob

Justin said...

Dear HK Snob,

Wow, that is a really quick reply... would you by any chance know where ur fren got it from singpaore and how much? my gf is in singapore at the moment could probably ask her to get one for me.

Do you personally think 71k is worth it? Or should i wait for Rolex AD?

Once again thank you!!

Kind Regards,
Justin

HK Snob said...

Hi Zheing,
The 16610LV is almost same as 16610LV Green bezel; it is tough to get one, but likely you still can get it from Rolex AD, but for 116610LV, it is almost impossible at AD,I visited Chow Tai Fook lst week when I was in HK, they have just one 16610LN at HKD$66,100 less 5%.
The Shop is Chow Tai Fook, 3rd Mong Kok Branch, 614A , Nathan Road, Mong Kok, tel 23321323 Look for Ms Tsoi Kam Chu. Good Luck!

You may go to Wing Kong as I posted in the previous reply to justin a while ago

Justin said...

Dear HK Snob,

It is me again, just wondering between the two submariner date, the black and green, do you think the green is worth the extra bucks? the green is quite a fair bit more than the black. I would like to hear ur advice on which one you think i should get.

Thank you.

Regards,
Justin

HK Snob said...

Hi Justin,

My comment is HKD$71K is his first offer as I have a reserved watch in Singapore Hour Glass via a close friend , he hold oen for me at SGD$11K. of course I am chasing him everyday for that Watch as I want to use it in Xmas.
Back to the one at Wing Kong, I think you can reply with a HKD$70K.
So I think that is still a good price, Waiting for Rolex AD is almost impossible, but I know some powerful VIP may get one.. but not me.

I was just blogging, so I have to reply you ASAP ... Thanks for your Comment.... Dai Lo!

Hi Justin,
Colour is the main Killing factor for the Rolex, A Stella Red Dial Ref 1803 valued HKD$150,000. But the same watch with Champange Gold, Black, white is just HKD$40,000.
Same for the Submariner, Green one is more in value.. After a few years you will know the appreciation!

The Black one is just a tool watch for divers and that is too common, too many!!

In My humble opinion , buy the Green... you never lose!

Hi HK Snob Dai Lo,

Thanks for the advice. I manage to grab myself a green submariner date base on ur advice. However i bought it in singapore for around 11,800 SGD after claiming back gst. it seems like a lot of the shops have already hiked their price since it is so in demand haha. loving my first rolex watch!

Thinking of what watch I will be saving for next haha. any advice?

cheers,

How much is the price after discount in HK if HK delaer have it ?

HK Snob said...

Hi Justin Dai Lo,
Congrad... The first Rolex is already the hottest Rolex, Did you mean you bought the Green Bezel Green Dial, GST is 7% ?
Where did you buy!? Hour Glass!?
That is a real good watch! Will you use it or keep it!?
That is a good price, as SGD$11,800 is about HKD$67,260, after removal of 7% GST, that is HKD$62,551. Good deal. Happy Rolex Man! Dai Lo!!!
HK Snob

Justin said...

Hey HK Snob,

It was SGD 11,800 SGD after deducting the gst claim :D not as cheap as yours though haha.. but oh well i guess rolex's prices keep going up!if only money wasn't an issue haha

My gf bought it for me in Singapore. Of course I have to pay her back haha.

If i remember correctly, Hour glass is selling the watch for like SGD 14,000 inclusive of the 7% gst which is rather expensive haha.

Anyway, thanks for the advice n keep in touch :D

Cheers dai lo!.

HKSnob,

Thank you for the immediate reply.

Now I hope that the price won't go up & it's still available by 31-dec. I'm leaning on getting the 116610LN. Especially the 14060M is HK$59,000.00 compared to HK$62,100.00 of Sub-date. Can I call you when I get there or just through emails?

Thank you!
Poi

HK Snob said...

Hi Poi,
I think all depends on availability.
Who knows, 31 Dec is just a few days later.
If I were asked, both watches are acceptable, all depends on your budget and preference, Sub with Date under the bubble magnifying glass is the Icon of Rolex, but on the other hands, people does not like that. So many people rates Daytona the most beautiful watch of Rolex because of no date, more balanced on the dial. Anyway, different people goes for different taste as I don't feel good using watch without day and date for work, so I use Day date most of the time.
Send me mail and we exchange phone numbers.
Merry Christmas

Hi HK Snob,
Not long to go til i'm in HK. First thing to do is checkout some Rolex AD along Nathan Rd. Then if i can't get a Daytona new then i guess Kuen Kee will be the place to go. So I hope that they have some to choose from. And if they are trustworthy as you say they are then i shouldn't worry about getting the real deal.
I'll let you know how i go.......

HK Snob said...

Hi Oz RolexFan,
Good idea, check along Nathan Road for Rolex ADs. You can send me the model and I can check for your first as I know a few people there. And if they have and price is right, I think it is no error to buy new one from AD. And if they do not have Kuen Kee is another choice.
When you will be in HK!?

Hi HK Snob,
I'll be there thurs Jan 5 in the afternoon. I'll definitely check out the AD first. I saw a Daytona in Manila (P550k with 12% VAT added) which made it expensive. So i hope to strike it lucky in HK and find one otherwise as new condition is still OK.

Hi HK Snob,
A new Daytona TT at 550,000 pesos is roughly equiv. to $HK100000, but it's the only one available i've seen.
i'm in HK for a few days and I've walked around Nathan Rd this afternoon and didn't find one. I did find a Submariner 116613LB which is another favourite of mine and saw a GMT-master II both available at one shop. i'm considered both at this stage but liking the LB a little more.
Sure i'd love to see you & chat before i finally make up my mind on which to get. i'm free on saturday if you can spare the time.

Hi HK Snob,

You have a GREAT blog.

I will be in HK on this SAT (14-1-2012)

I will be visiting HK and wanted to buy the GMT Master II Green Dial and Bezel, can I know the
price and good deal.

This will be my first ROLEX watch.

I heard that the price was $61,200 from ROLEX official SHOP, is there any good discount on it, are
there any shops that give good deals on this watch, can we bargin in ROLEX official shops or their

Authorized Dealers like Chow Tai Fook or Chow Sang Sang.

Is it possible to get a 10% discount on this watch, I dont mind buying a pre-owned one, as long as

it is very new, haha...but do you recommend me as this will be my FIRST ROLEX watch, shall I buy a new one or pre-owned one?

One of my friend told me to ask from a shop called "VIP Watch and Jewellery also called VIP

Station" is this shop trustful (they have only 2 shops in HK, one in TST and one in Central, I am

looking for a real Rolex watch.

Or shall I try a pre-owned from Kuen Kee, are they trustful, and how much I can get from them.

Sorry for my long email, as I did a lot of reasearch myself as I cannot decide from where to buy from and this is my final choice from you.

Thx a lot bro,

Hi Shawn, Since this is the first Rolex for you, it would be advisable to buy new as they are flawless, value for life, and most of all guranteed to serve you for many mnay years.
Yes, that is the price for GMT Master II HKD$61,200.00. All Rolex AD can offer you maximum 5% less as a discount,. you can see there is another Rolex Fan called me saying that Chow Sang Sang offered him less 3% only. I have friend in anotehr oriental but they have no stock and have to wait a few day to get that at less 5% dcsount, Well, he left HK already tonight.
back to your case. My opinion, if for new go to Oriental, Wah Hing, Chow Sang Sang and Chow Tak Fook,
2nd Hand wise, you can consier Kuen Kee, some of the watch has the certificate, Waranty card at Kuen Kee, as for your other shop, I can not comment it as I have not been there for buying.
