Attitude drives action. Action drives results. Results drive lifestyles.

Attitude drives action. Action drives results. Results drive lifestyles.” That is a quote from American’s business philosopher Jim Rohn. If you don’t like your lifestyle, look at your result, if you don’t like you results, look at your actions. If you don’t like you actions, look at your attitude. If you don’t like your attitude, look at your philosophy. Most Salespersons make the fatal mistake of starting in the middle. They start with “actions”. If you have no philosophy and you have a lousy attitude, what kind so actions are you going to take!? And If I asked you right now what is your philosophy…
Develop a Yes, Attitude,
There is a subtle difference between “positive” attitude and a “yes” attitude. Both are GREAT, but “Yes” is a bit more powerful. It assumes that everything will start with “yes” even when it is “no”.   A “yes” attitude helps you to formulate yes responded in a positive form. A “yes” attitude is more declarative, it tells people in word that their expectation will be met. And somehow your answer to whatever they want or need will be ”yes” or in a positive format. Everyone wants to hear “yes” and if you think of yourself as “yes” person. Not only will you be a positive frame of mind but you will also have positive expectation. “Yes person” does not equivalent to “yes-man”, where the latter one is reply yes regarding of any thorough thought of the need and reason why we have to reply “yes”!

You know what to do, you just don’t do it. Salespersons are the smartest people in the world. As I go from audience to audiences they have one common theme among them, Everyone already knows everything, (problem is they are not doing it.) There is a difference between knowing and doing and most salesperson are without a clue how about the power of the subtlety. As you read through this book don’t tell yourself. “I know what, “Rather ask yourself “how good am I at that?” Time management - What is important now? Lesson in time management = is pretty much waste of time. As everyone thinks that he knows what to do; and think that you even know when to do it. What you need is lesson in procrastination or lesson in higher self-image, or a lesson in fear of rejection, or a lesson of preparation. Those lessons will allow you to execute the things that in your own mind you believe youself, “don’t have time for”: but in reality, you are just avoiding them.

Celebrate effort, victory
The work ethic, better stated as your work ethic, will lead you to more sales than any other element in your sales arsenal. If someone says, “Oh that Mary, she really works hard.” I consider that to be a compliment or the highest order. Too many times sale people and their leaders only celebrate the sale. And while that‘s important. It is equally important to celebrate the work that went into making the sale happen.
Be Selfish
Do it yourself. Selfish wins. In order for you to be the BEST you can be for others, first you must be BEST for yourself. If you want to be the best sale person first you must be the best person. If you want to be the best dad or mom, first you must be the best person you can be for yourself. When you achieve best for yourself, then and only then can you be your best for others, I know it has a selfish twinge to it, but if you think about long enough you will come to realize that your short comings in all of your endeavors stem from the fact you’re not being the best person you can be first.
Moral of the book:
“Climbing the ladder of success?
Which what are you headed?
Hints: The secret to climbing up is to put your heart into your work.”

After reading a book “Jeffrey Gitomer’s Little Red book of Selling” I bought at San Francisco back in 2007

How about Rolex in 2020?

Vintage Rolex Submariner 16618 Lapis and Onyx
Every year we were told not to buy this or must buy that for a Rolex. How about this year? This is purely base on personal preference and I think the most important thing is you are buying a watch for wearing and not for storage in the vault for ten years and wait for the treasure to be re-evaluated. I am always promoting the spirit of buying a Rolex or everyday use, you use it more you will lose less. Well, note that from my Top Post you still see Kuen Kee and Lung Shing watch company in Sham Shui Po, well, to be honest that is the history as I used to visit them every week, for Kuen Kee the price is not as good as before… as for Lung Shing, they watches are always the same especially in the past 6 months HK was being fallen into  political trouble with those protests. The reason why I write this as still a lot of enquiry asking me how is the value of their watches at Kuen Kee and Lung Shing.
After price increase on 2 Jan 2020, I visited some of the stores, still no sport watches are supplied. What is the point to increase the price!? Well, for those once in a while buying a Date Just they may not feel too much but we used to collect those hot models we would suffer a lot.
What is next in the coming new 2020 Rolex release?
Guess that they will not produce any Sub no date 114060.
They will use new movement on the Submariner 116610LN and 116610LV , changing new model number with 12-series.
Will there be Coke GMT ? Not sure!
Will they release new Ceramic bezel Explorer II, likely.
What is the next new Daytona? I don’t know.
So what is the best way now for keeping watch that you can enjoy and as same time the value is there year after year?
For use, I really suggest to buy those 2017 or 2018 Unused Daytona 116500 Black or white with sticker. As their price seems good.
For example 116500 Black is $145,000 White is $150,000 (year 2017)
If you buy fresh 2020 from Dealer, Black is $180,000 and White is over $190,000.
There is no difference for a watch of 2017 and 2020 except that the newer one has a longer warranty period. But you have to pay more $30,000.
What about NOS (new old stock)
Submariner 16610LV Kermit Flat four NOS is $200,000
Submariner 16610LV Kermit Normal Four is $150,000
Daytona 116500LN Black with sticker is $180,000-200,000 depends on year.
Daytona 116500LN White with Sticker is $190,000 or more.
New Rolex
GMT Pepsi Blue Red 126710BLRO is $129,000, stabilizing price in the past two months.
Batgirl GMT Master II Blue Black 126710BLNR is $104,000.
Batman 116710BLNR with oyster Bracelet is $115,000- 120,000 – much depends on who is selling.
(gradually this discontinued model will slowly losing is attraction) not recommended to keep unless you get to SRP.)
Sea Dweller 126600 Single Red, price has no more energy to keep at higher level. It is dropping, I could get one with addition premium at AD with $98,000. The highest price was $126,000 in 2019.
Rising stars Polar
More people are looking for Explorer II 16570 T25 White Polar recent 6 months.
NOS is $110,000, used full set is $75,000;  in 2018 NOS was only $67,000, Full set was $48,000
That is a big increase in price for Polar!
Daytona 16520 A series 1999, used one Black price is settled at $200,000 to 225,000 , we need to keep an eye for the price up or not in 2020.
Daytona Patrizzi 16520 price is fluctuating as all depends on condition and how the patina sub-dial looks like.
Daytona 16528 Yellow gold floating line and invested 6 black dial is now $300,000, it was only $180,000 in 2017-18.
Vintage
Day Date 1803 is getting a bit hot as quite a lot new younger men or lady is looking for 1803 and 18039.
1803 yellow gold watch only is about $55,000 , it was $44,000 in 2018-19.
18039 white gold is $73,000, it was $55,000 in 2018-19.  If rare dial is likely very expensive, not mentioned with gold bracelet and with paper.
Rare species
18238 Onyx is getting very expensive in these two years, watch only is now $90,000, it was only $70,000 in 2018-19.
18238 Lapis blue or Coral is crazy, price can be up to $500,000. Hard to find at all.
Submariner 16618 Onyx and Lapis Blue is my dream, though I once had owed them but sold…
I think If you see one don’t miss the chance buying it.
Submariner 16618 Lapis Azuli blue is $650,000 full set
Submariner 16618 Onyx is $450,000 full set.
Wish you a Happy new Year 2020 with happy new Rolexes!

Two Rolex Watch cases carry the same Serial Number!?

Have you thought of two watches of Rolex bear the same serial number!?
It happens, and it is not uncommon too!
Why? What is the drive for doing this, obvious that is not the fault of Rolex!
That is some people does it on purpose.
What makes him doing this?
Case 1. Someone has the original Rolex Warranty paper which punched with Serial Number of the watch on it...
So they have to "Make" a matching watch case with this number such that the watch can be sold at a higher price.
Case 2.The watch case is not matching the dial, hands of the watch, as we can verify what revision of a Submariner 5513 by checking the serial number, so he has to "make" such a case with that number! So that the watch can be sold!
Case 3. Stolen watch, that he has to make another "Safe" Serial number on that stolen watch.
As Police, Pawn Shop and Rolex maintains and updates a record on the stolen watch serial numbers. Once they find suspect watch, they will not take it, service it and or even report to Police!
How do they make the serial number!?
They can make a fake watch case and stamp the serial number on it.
They can use authenticate Rolex watch case, grind way the serial number, and stamp a new serial number on it.
Well, as a collector, we always buy from Reliable buyer... sometime abnormal pricing will give you some of the suspected item.
Note:
If the serial number looks very sharp and clear on a 1960 5513, you should be alerted! as that may be new stamped serial number of even the watch case is newly made not by Rolex!
We should check the fonts carefully, Rolex has it own fonts, refer to the pictures, the 3, 8 and 8 is so different. and not too hard to tell the difference.

The most desirable luxury sport watch

A Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref 5711/1A is the world’s most desirable steel luxury sports watch. The wait time from authorized retailers in the Geneve Switzerland is 7 years and Hong Kong I know not, but I think there is possibility that your son may get one under your name in the waiting list.
Price
Current Hong Kong SRP of Patek Ref 5711/1A -010 is HK$229,300 and 5711/1R-001 is HK$398,900.
In the Market, recommended retail in the HK of a Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref 5711/1A with navy blue dial is HK$525,000. That is two times the price of SRP!
A Brief History
Celebrated watch designer Gérald Genta would be the man to design that era-defining watch, the Royal Oak Jumbo Ref 5042ST. Putting it all on the line, Audemars Piguet unveiled its steel watch at the 1972 Baselworld fair. In the process it created an entire new category; the steel luxury sports watch.
Several years later, Genta would do it all again. During an Interview, he described himself sitting at a restaurant during the Basel fair. He saw a group of Patek executives at another table and began sketching out a rough design. It would become the steel Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref 3700/1, launched in 1976. A bold move, it cost almost as much as a 18k gold Patek Philippe watch at the time.
The design was based on the shape of the porthole of a transatlantic liner. It featured a wide bezel and ‘ears’ at each side evoking the large hinges of the watertight windows. The case was made from nickel-chrome-molybdenum steel, an alloy considered the highest standard at the time. This alloy was used in the construction of tanks during World War II. It was capable of enduring extreme temperatures and pressure. It also had the added benefit of being relatively light compared to ‘regular’ steel.
Inside the Nautilus Ref 3700/1 was the calibre 28-255C. Considered one of the best ultra-thin automatic calibres of the time. Based on the Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre 920, it was finished in-house by Patek Philippe. This is the same base movement used in the Genta-designed Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. By collectors’ thought in today’s standards it seems strange to imgaine Patek Philippe using a third-party movement. In fact, Patek Philippe didn’t introduce its own perpetual calendar chronograph movement until 2011. Instead they used heavily modified Lemania-base movements!
The Patek Philippe Ref 5711/1A
The Patek Philippe Ref 5711/1A debuted in 2006 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus. It was an instant hit with collectors and as you can see, has continued on an upward trajectory ever since. The distinctive porthole-shaped 40mm case is slightly larger than the original (+1mm). It measures just 8.3mm thick. An octagonal-shaped bezel frames the horizontally embossed black blue or silvery white dial. Baton-shaped hour markers white gold is treated with luminescent coating.
From an aesthetic point of view, this is about as simple as a three-hander with date gets. The ultimate exercise in restraint. It looks all but identical to the original Nautilus Ref 3700/1. There is so little happening on the dial and yet it is so attractive.
On the reverse, a sapphire caseback reveals the manufacture Caliber 324 SC inside. This self-winding movement incorporates several of Patek Philippe’s innovations,  include the four-spoke Gyromax® balance wheel and its slotted poising weight, the Spiromax® balance- spring in Silinvar® that maintains the oscillations at a frequency of 28,800 BPS. Equipped with a Central rotor in 21K gold, the movement offers a maximum power reserve of 45 hours. The finishing is also above reproach. Côtes de Genève, circular graining, beveled steel parts and bridges. This movement is adorned with the Patek Philippe seal for good reason.

Factors on why Patek Nautilus is so hot!
Brand Value
Everyone recognizes a Rolex on the wrist. Only the well-groomed few will be able to spot a Patek Philippe from across the table. The general consensus is that it is the most prestigious luxury watch brand in the world. It signals the refinement and sophistication of its owner. At the same time, it’s also understated…
Look
If you don't like the watch design, you may not buy it, as a Nautilus, I think it is beautiful,
It is quite large enough to read, simple dial hand design, thin and the watches case comes with a matching bracelet polished beautifully.
Quality

The Patek Philippe name is intrinsically linked to quality. You know that experts have spent weeks or months constructing your watch. Every Patek Philippe watch ever made has a searchable ‘extract’ available at the Patek Philippe archives. Almost no other watch brand can offer that level of confidence. Patek may be the one one company that can always Repair your watch regardless of age! That is why Rolex cannot handle…Thus your Patek is theoretically perpetual lasting!
Scarcity
Patek Philippe’s precise annual production numbers are a commercial secret. Estimates put them at around 48,000 watches. Of that, about 75% have mechanical movements with rest in quartz. Production is spread over about 250 different models. By averaging it, that means that no single model is likely made in great quantities. As a result, there is a real sense of scarcity.
Versatility
This is a watch that can be worn anywhere for any occasion. Wear it with a suit and tie, dress it down with a polo, heck wear it with board shorts to the beach. The case is rated water resistant to 120m. It’s beloved by celebrities, sports stars, movie stars,  collectors, investor, and successful businessmen and women alike.

 Investment Value

You should buy a watch because you like it and enjoy wearing it. Not because it might go up in value. The reality is quite different. There are only two luxury watch brands that have displayed a consistent ability to maintain or even Increase their value: Rolex and Patek Philippe. That the Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref 5711/1A is trading at double its retail value on the secondary market. Likewise for the Rolex Daytona Ceramic White 116500LN. This may not be the primary reason most people buy but it is definitely a significant factor.
