A tribute to Rolex Day Date White Gold Watch

Rolex Day Date Ref 18049
I bought this watch in 2009 with HKD$105,000, I used it  almost every day as my work horse to business trip, meeting customer, bosses, colleagues, friends, even going Hiking.
It is so much beautiful, durable and until July 2013, friend of mind asked me to sell this watch to him, the final deal was HKD$120,000

Conclusion
Good Watch, after wearing for 4 years still I can make some money….
The Sketch was drawn at this Airport Lounge…not too good but I have nothing to do as the WiFi was too slow for me to browse mails…

  1. I've one pink gold DDII now but cannot wear it everyday. It's too bling bling.

Now, I'm looking for 2nd hand white gold day-date. Kuen Kee has not much stock to prick from.

Whereas can I find some reliable 2nd hand day-date? Afterall, day-date is not as common as sport models.

    Thanks!

  2. Hi Yan
That is the real Reason why more old birds will prone to wear White Gold DD as it looks as very low profile watch.

I used to wear DD YG, I like it...

I Have a friend collectors who have a lot of DD, note on my Post on DD on sale in future.

We have sold one WG Ref 1804 at HKD$46,000 recently., it is a good deal as same watch is sold at HKD$56,000!

  10. "肥殻,2 HALLMARK,波膠,兩點霸的, 大裝"

What the hells are these terms??

What is the market price for white gold 1803 with original white gold bracelet?

how does it different from white gold 1804?

say if all conditions are the same, 1803 vs 18039, which one should be more expensive?

Thanks a lot for these questions.

  11. Hi Yan,

肥殼means originality of case, if case been polished, it get slimmer.
    The fatter the better.
Some 1803 has 2 hallmarks, some got three, people tends to look for more hallmark. it is stamped on the snug of the watch base.

波膠is non-Rolex crystal comes without the cyclops, some people likes it as they said more balanced look in the dial, well I like original crystal with cyclops.

雨點霸的refers to my earlier article be low. That is the top centre one, the white gold Rolex DD.

大裝is some later Rolex DD looks bigger, for example Ref18039 is thicker than Ref1803, it is much thicker to be more obvious as the dial of ref18039 is flat whereas 1803 is not. That make the watch thickness different, and the movement is not same too.

Price WG 1803 With original WG president bracelet with silver dial no diamond of excellent condition range between $70,000 to $90,000.

    1804 means white gold 1803.

It is hard to answer, generally 18039 is more preferred for it comes with sapphire crystal, looks bigger and better in function, it is newer so if everything like condition and colour of dial is same, 18039 is more expensive.

However, more variety on colour of dial, scarcity of 1803 in consideration, some particular like 1804 is more sought after and so as its price

one slash is steel or two tone.
    two dots is white gold.
    single dot is Platinum.
