Beauty and the Beast

Ref 116619 Rolex Submariner White Gold
Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner Date. 40mm 18K white gold case, blue time lapse Cerachrom bezel, blue dial, and Oyster Glidelock Bracelet. Water resistant to 1,000 feet.

No other watch is engineered quite like a Rolex. The Submariner, introduced in 1953, was the first watch to be water resistant up to 100 meters (330 feet). It was later strengthened by its patented triple-seal Triplock winding crown, making it capable of withstanding depths of up to 300 metres (1,000 feet). The new 40 mm Submariner is presented here in white gold with a blue Cerachrom disc.
This is no question an absolute beauty and I hope I can be the beast to wear it on my wrist! One of the target buy Rolex!!

List Price HKD$263,600.00 at Rolex AD.

  2. Hi Adrian,
Yes, a bit high as there is no one would go for a White Gold Submariner.
on the other hand, people likes it would never let go. So I have not or nearly not seeing any one at Pre-owned market.

  3. Only one problem is the term "blue Rolex" in Cantonese translating as 難攞。

  4. Hi There,

    You are Right!

I beleive you must be from HK!
yes... Blue Rolex = "Nan Lo" in English is "Difficult to make a living!!"

and White gold Rolex = "Bak Lo"
In English is "Empty hands after all effort..."

It is even worse if White gold Blue Dial Rolex...!!

That is why I am planning to talk to Rolex AD Hong Kong asking for a special discount as I belive Chinese HK does not like this watch because of this Chinese Traditional Superstitions...

  6. Adrian,
Well, I like to take the challenge see how 噤難撈is how 噤難撈! If one can buy that 難撈 watch!

But I am really in 難撈 condition,
my beloved has already locked up my pay beginning of the month.

Probably, I had to go Shenzhen to sell one of my fat kidneys for that White gold Submariner with Blue Dial!

  7. Well...the market is already "Nan Lo" and I don't want to put myself in a even worse situation. That's why I wear "Cum Lo" most of the time in hope of having a long lasting job.

let's wait for HS Index 39,000 then I buy a "Cum Lo" and pass to my beloved once again... her birthday is closing by!! But now the HS Index is far below 29,000... it is floating around 20,000
    only!!

  9. HI HK Snob,

The watch looks good but is a bit too ex for me.

I am thinking of getting a pre owned Explorer II or Date Just in SS and was wondering whether you know where is a good place to go and what is the price like?

    Regards
    Chen

  10. Hi Chen,
That is the Rolex Marketing pricing that makes such watch price so high on purpose.
As for your request, if you are urgent, you can go to shops like Kuen Kee, Luen Shing at Sham Shui Po, or shop in Mongkok, they should have over hundred of Explorer II and Date Just for your choice.
    Depending on condition
Explorer II is priced at about HKD$32,000-39,000.
    Date Just is about HKD$19,500-40,000
Or I can keep an eye for you for good valued pre-owned watch directly from the end-users!
