Cheen, Cheen, Cheen, Cheeeeeen

Money Quote

The man who has no money is poor, but one who has nothing but money is poorer.

He only is rich who can enjoy without owning; he is poor who though he has millions is covetous.

Money is not everything, but without money is definitely “Nothing”.

People who have a lot of money and no time we call 'rich'. People who have time but no money we call 'poor'. Yet the most precious gifts--love, friendship, time with loved ones--grow only in the sweet soil of unproductive time.

So when you have 1M, what will you buy!? (I just set an arbitrary number, I M to be is a lot of money...

Sorry don't forget I am a poor snob, 1M to Mr. Lee is just like 0.5 dollar of mine… it is odious to compare…

Well, there will be too many different approaches to spend the money.

But get back to basis, how to get the money?

People says No bee, no honey, or no Money no Honey!?

I am trying to say, no work, no money…no money no nothing….

There are ways to make more income:-

Change jobs.
This is the best way to boost your earnings, as you have the most leverage at the moment that a company wants you but isn’t sure whether it can get you. Use that to your advantage in negotiations..

You should be doing more aggressively when you are in 20-30s, and moderate aggressively for changing job when you are 40-50;s as somehow you should be earning a mature status in your company, but when you are above 55’s you should be more cautious in changing your job, Like I  am now.

Don't believe loyalty, the management say, did I pay you?

And When you are for a raise, there is always a chance you will lose the job, you should know your company more and make a wise decision to stay of leave.

Request a raise.
Getting a raise is an excellent move because it doesn’t require you to trade more time for more money. You are putting in the same amount of time, but pulling a bigger paycheck. But, it’s always a bit tricky to ask for a raise when your company already has you at your current salary. You’ve got to make a strong argument you deserve the increase.

Don’t make your request during budget cuts.
Don’t ask when your boss has an overloaded plate
Don’t ask when you haven’t been really performing at your best or exceeding expectations.
Don’t use a counteroffer when you’re not actually prepared to leave
Don’t become adversarial
Don't do it if you do not have a Plan B if you are requested to leave…beware!

Coach. ( not the bag)
If you have enough experience in your field to coach others with their careers, then create a website — or, if you have one, add a section describing what you’d offer as a coach. Advertise your services in industry forums and give new clients a discount or other incentives to refer you.

Teach Wing Chun, teaches piano, teach how to draw…

Blog.
If you have an area of expertise, you can create a website with ads and affiliate links,

I always talk to my daughter to start Make-up blog, I always persuade my friend to join tm to link up Country-Snob blog… such as German Snob, Singapore Snob, Penang Snob…etc

but most of them do not like blogging…

Freelance.
Freelancing is the next best thing to being paid more for your full-time work, because professional work always pays more than unskilled. To find opportunities, let former colleagues or other personal connections that you’re available for freelance gigs.

Modeling, Helping friend to run shop, helps people to make picture at wedding, song writing, make your Xmas card for sale, helping people to do Fung Shui, Design wedding card for colleague to save money for actually participating the wedding, sell you luggage quota to frequent cargo shipper to your country you go every week ( I do most of these above).

Tutor. (not Tudor)
This is a way for earning extra income, I used to teach “ how to make a successful interview to Ivy students, but was offered as Free, I should charge them.

Teach an online course.
If you have an area of expertise, instruct a course through a site like Udemy or Skillshare.

Temp.
Many offices need temporary workers, Watch man at night while you work m you do blogs, work at 7/11 but the pay is just HKD$40 per hours

Give tours of your city.
Allows you to guide tours centered around a particular cultural experience. Some members’ offerings include a Paris photography tour and a Queens tastes of the world tour. My lady does this as he major income as she speak excellent Mandarin, she earns HKD$20K a month!

Become a driver.
Now you can use your car to earn money, bet that if you are owning a Luxury car, drive executive to tour in HK, to Airport, of to make your car Wedding coach… This earn extra income.

Sell your castoffs on eBay.
OMG, I have a lot of these for sales, my valuable vacuum tubes, my TAS lists of LP, my watches, my Audio Equipment, I will put these as one of selling happy hobbies after I retire!

There are still many way to make more money, but there are something I am doing but I cannot tell here as someone will track on me… haha… but I am enjoying more income from these, and these are all tax free money!

I think we monster parent does not need to force our kid to study.

Me as a Manager I this company I really is the few of 16,000 staff that does not have a proper degree.

I earned my reputation by works and passion, and I am proud of myself.

Being a sales manager (lower position in this), I used to put a Rolex Day Date to tell time, Solid Gold Tiffany pen for signing document, Ferragamo Brief case and Valentino loafer, I have opened over 1,000 bottle of wine, many of them are bottled by top five French brewery…
