All it takes is Knowledge, capital and guts to buy vintage collectible watch

This is a very interesting story of a rare Vacheron Constantin 222 watch.

5 months ago there is watch show held in Hong Kong, friend of mine spotted a beautiful Vacheron Constantin 222 from a western dealer, he was asking certain price which is about HK$480000, he was trying to think if this is real stuff from Vacheron Constantin as this is made of white gold. Googles did to help to tell, well if a stainless steel he could have bought is as there are known certain 100 pieces of steel and in yellow gold Jumbo 222. But this is white gold... he finally dropped down the watch, another anxiously waiting friend of mine grabbed it instantly and asking for final price, he bought it on the next day.

I had such a great honor to wear this piece of watch myself at from him. Heavy like 180 grams, beautifully made, also clean cases as it was fresh from factory... I have a yellow gold 222 but it was my first time seeing a white gold.... well, this watch was auction with HK$5M as shown here.

Moral of the story is all it takes is knowledge, capital and most important one is guts... do you dare to buy if there is even no information on a watch available on Google....

He bought it.... a man of knowledge, capital and GUTS. Of course you have to spend time focusing on sourcing it. That is a great fun if you can find a watch you like.

Congratulations!

What is aftermath thought on the recent auction at Antiqurum Monaco?

Refer to the link here,

1. Vacheron Constantin is capturing more attentions

2. AP Royal Oak 5402 A series steel is not reaching the high only HKJ$500,000, but on the other hand a VC 222 steel is reaching HKJ$1,100,000 which is two times higher than AP!

3. Patek 5711 green no bid, 5712 no bid, but 3800A with Euro 39,000 that means that 38mm watch may get more people interested or people see the trend is more on smaller watch, hey should buy now when price is considered still "Low".

4. Daytona 116520 Creamy is reaching high price over HK$1m. good to see as Daytona is always king of Rolex.

Summary

Keep eyes on these

1. VC 222 is good investment, and probably the next gen Overseas Gen 1 41042 blue or creamy white dial!

2. PP Nautilus 3800 white gold or steel.

3. AP Royal Oak 5402 A B or C series at good price.

4. Daytona 115520, 15628

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Ref. 25863T1

This is not the watch for me as my wrist is not big enouh to carry such watch!
This is made of Titanium, with Super Jumbo Size of 57mm with measurement including the crown.
Cal. 2226/2480 with 54 jewels. Watch proof.

The Christie's Final bid came to USD$30,000.00. I think that this watch is losing his glory as comparing with the time Arnold worn it as on the Terminators III in 2003. is an Limited to 750 pieces.

USD$30,000.00 is considered Good deal!

Rolex Ref. 16610 Submariner in Christie's Action

This Green Bezel stainless steel Submariner has been in the market for a few years, rumours of a limited production model, Over selling price in Hong Kong has occurred. And had been one of the hits of Rolex in HK.
This watch was sold at New York Christie's Auction on 15 Dec 2009 at USD$7,500.00.
That is higher that the official List price of Rolex.  This action price further confirms that this Rolex Model is Really a LIMITED production! So next time you see it, do not miss the chance to buy one.

Vantage Rolex Day Just in Christie's New York 2009

Under the title of "Important Watches" in New York Christie's Auction 15 Dec 2009.
This 18K Yellow Gold Rolex Ref. 6605 Oyster Perpetual Day Just, 36mm Cal.1065 25 jewels, Circa 1952.
A Red Day Just marking on the dial does not likely bring with any kind of speciality. Surprisely, this watch was sold at USD$30,000 including commision.
Sometimes it is hard to imagine that watch of this kind can reach such a high auction price!
